FS9 Default Airport Terminals to FSX

Recommended Posts

I would like to know if default FS9 airport terminals can be ported over to FSX? I would like to take the "Medium Airports" file, of which the textures were modified by Chris Arrington (AEU7) and use it in FSX. I realize the texture draw in FS9 is not dds but was wondering if DXT would convert those textures. But first, is the FS9 bgl convertible to FSX and if so, how is that done? IMHO, the default airport terminals leave a lot to be desired.

Thanks

FSX uses the same MediumAirport.bmp that is used in FS9, so you should be able to use Chris' file in FSX.

Be aware that FSX does have a bump and a spec for that file, so you may see some oddities due to windows being different, etc.

As always, back up the original before making any changes.

regards,

Joe
