July 25, 201213 yr I'm trying to complete the tutorial and get stuck in the physical part of it when setting up for takeoff. It tells me to arm Lnav and Vnav but it doesn't tell me how. I read somewhere that you have to use the FMC but I recall hearing that there are switches in the cockpit. Alex Kriss
July 25, 201213 yr In CMD (autopilot panel) press LNAV and/or VNAV (after configurate in FMC); the arm mode is when you NOT have selected the CMD button; when you press the CMD button the autopilot will be activate. Israel D' Oleo Ochoa

Sorry I don't fully understand what you mean by this. I'm currently used to the Airbus instrument panel and am a complete noob at getting this set up. Could you explain in more detail please? July 25, 201213 yr The LNAV and VNAV modes will be in "arm" mode when you select them with the autopilot off. Which means that they are not in control (because the autopilots not on ) then when you turn on the autopilot they will be the active autopilot modes. This is what the post above was saying. Cheers Lee Sent using Tapatalk Edit: so the tutorial is saying that before you take off press LNAV and VNAV, this is done on the autopilot panel, the VNAV and LNAV buttons are on either side of the heading select. July 25, 201213 yr Press the LNAV and VNAV buttons on the MCP (mode control panel), as mentioned if the AP is off they will go into arm mode (unless your flight plan it messed up) you will see the green lights on the buttons and a little white "LNAV armed" "VNAV armed" on the FMA (flight mode announciator (grey boxes on the top of the PFD screen) Jay Vorkapic
July 25, 201213 yr Armed has nothing to do with a/p on or off. Use the Mode Control Panel to tell the Flight Director what guidance to give you. That can include LNAV/VNAV. If its you using your muscles to follow the F/D or the A/P, it makes no difference. Matt Cee

When I fly a flightplan would I follow the instructions in the tutorial to set up the cockpit for takeoff? Alex Kriss
July 26, 201213 yr Since your having problems in finding what switches to turn things on i suggest first read the Introduction manual first at least twice than you can check out the other manuals, than do tutorial 1 a few times once you have no problems in doing this on than go ahead to do tutorial2. If you still unsure check out some of the utubes that are out there, there are some good ones and there are others I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg
