X-lane 10 crashes upon loading

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

So, I picked up the Northern Regional version of X-Plane 10 the other day. They just came in. After installing, I ran the program with no issues. Note: I left the box unchecked to update and participate in the beta program. Yesterday, I come back to run X-plane to adjust some settings to my liking, and the screen turns white followed by an error on launch. App Hang..... No matter what, I can't get it to run. Any suggestions? I didn't do anything so I am puzzled by this. I've heard of people having issues after updating to the beta, but as I mentioned, I have not. Thanks in advance.

Best, Jeff

Try deleting your "preference" folder

Just make sure to not delete the folder, but only its content!

Might be global shadows. It's been known to cause issues on my machine and others as well after changing the option. If using higher than static shadows, it seems to load, get to the end of loading, I can hear the engine as if it were about to pop into the aircraft, but stops right there. Been an issues in the last few versions of XP for me.

I'll try this guys. First, I was going to do an update from the X-Plane website....not the beta, but just update the DVD install to a current stable version and see what that does first. I'll let you know how I make out and thanks for your suggestions. :)
