Has anyone really used the Aura Interactor.

I have seen glowing reviews on this product as one ahead of it's time. It seems someone has gotten their hands on a quantity of them and are selling them at the closeout price of $20.00 per.Now as attractive as that sounds, I have a hard enough time convincing my wife I am the "man" (not boy) of the house when I bring out my Joystick/Throttle Combo to fly virtual flights in Hawaii. If I brought home this little cousin of a flak jacket and slipped that on, my wife wouldn't stop laughing for a week.I like my flight sims, but I have to think what I look like at the computer, and I don't care how "good" the immersion is, I just can't see myself wearing a thumping flak jacket with a pair of stereophonic glasses for 3d. Just one attempt to do that would find its way into every Christmas card my wife mails this year.At least the reviewer for AVSIM can rightfully claim he had to do it "for his job...."

I have got one. I bought it for a similar bargain price a couple of years ago, and it really is a great addition to the simming experience, so much so that when I switched it off after my first flight with it, the sim didn't seem so real anymore without those vibrations. Like the reviewers, I strap mine to the back of my chair, which is more comfortable and looked less silly. The only reason I use it very rarely now is that the only time I get to fly is at night after the rest of the family has gone to bed, so I have to be on headphones. But if I had a soundproof room it would be on for every flight!

My main concern is ergonomics. I have spent a great deal of time making sure my computer and peripherals are set as to prevent back/neck/arms wear and other injuries. With this thing strapped on (or just strapped to the chair), don't you strain your back/neck/shoulders against the vibrations? This could potentially cause problems if used a lot, like 10 hours/week? Or, maybe those vibrations are actually healthy? Kind of like a massage? :-lolWhat do you think?

I've been using the Aura Interactor for several years. I have it hanging on the back of my chair. This is the best deal out there for the fantastic effect you get. Here is a picture of how I have it attached to my chair.Gerry

Yep, I agree. I have the same exact chair and set up as Gerry, and I wouldn't fly without it. Doug explained it perfectly in his review. You can't beat it, especially for $20.
