EagleSoft Citation II/SP

Featured Replies

Hi,I noticed that EagleSoft released their Citation II/SP recently. Haven't seen any reviews yet - probably too early. Has anyone heard anything about the Citation? I know their other planes are excellent from reading the reviews.Tom

Look at my Screenshots in the screenshots forum (search author "Johnci").It's an excellent aircraft. I am running it on a P3/800 and performance is outstanding and I can only guess it would be blissful on a faster syustem. However, keep in mind that it doesn't have an FMS that some might expect on a bizjet. The C-II didn't have one installed when it was released--it is a jet for hand flying and I've actually enjoyed shooting touch and go's with it over KAPC.I think the FDE is outstanding. I almost regret my decision to buy the Flight1 Conquest--not because it's a bad aircraft, but because the C-II fills a great niche for a "Single Pilot, land almost anywhere get almost anywhere fast" aircraft. Mind you, I'd spend my money on both, and I did. The regret comes from observing my wife's eyebrows vs. two aircraft purchases :)Last, they offer very gracious support, and the one or two minor issues that have cropped up they've examined with sincere interest vs. the skepticsm lesser vendors might show. But also keep in mind the aircraft is for FS2004 only--they use some of the new XML features FS2004 supports...For $20, it's one of the best payware bargains since PMDG's Beech 1900, IMHO...-John

Hi,Thanks, john, for the feedback - I'll check out the pictures. Most of the repsonses I've received on this and other forums is that the Citation II is a good plane. Guess I'll get it. Know what you mean about the "raised eyebrows" from the wife. I've been in the same spot.Tom

I like it too - the flight dynamics are different from Veneaviones Citation II (which I have enjoyed using very much, too) and seem to be a more faithful representation of what flying the Citation 550 must be like. The VC and 2-D panels are nice, and the interior is nicely rendered. I like it, hope you will too!

Hi> I have the beech400 and the citationx. I was just wondering what the frames are like compared to these two. I love both planes and use them all the time. Thanks keith:-beerchug

Frames seems pretty similar to the Beech400. I don't have the CitationX, however. On the visual model, I'd say frames take maybe a 5 pct greater hit--where I get 24-25 fps in spot view with the 400, perhaps I get 21-23 fps with the C-II... But that can jump higher away from populated areas, especially populated areas with airports...-John

Hi,Well, I did it! I purchased the Citation II/SP. This is going to date me, but all I can say is "peachy, keeno"! I had a great time clicking switches, ringing the chime, opening and closing doors, switching NAV modes...etc. Now all I have to do is fly it.I read the documentation and, although, it's a bit confusing to me (the glass cockpit) I think I'm getting the hang of it. I flew little cessna's (for real)in my younger days so I'm in awe of the "new fangled" nav equipment. We didn't have much in those cessnas's but it was enough. Time to leave for the airport to flightplan. Y'all have a good weekend. I'll be somewhere over the USA at 25,000 ft.Tom

Thanks, Tom! I hope you enjoy flying her as much as we did building her... She simply "begs" to be flown by hand... :)

Hi,I must say, y'all did an excellent job creating the aircraft. There is a sense of reality to the Eaglesoft aircraft that I don't get with most others. Thanks.Tom
