GTX 660 Ti First Look

Featured Replies

Alrighty.... I've got my 580 up on Ebay.

I should have my 660ti later this week. To anyone that wants a 660ti also, I will run some benchmarks for everyone.

Thanks Ben i guest i will wait 2 more weeks my pay check comes big for me to order these types of card so i guest it won't be a waste of money . Its going to be my first time with Nvidia . So i guest i could try out Word Not Allowed guids an better understand tweaking with Nvidia Cards. As far as AMD goes it was nice very nice graphic , also with clouds i don't know if its just me but i really got a post a video i get smooth clouds no drop in frame rates at all when it comes to clouds. I really don't know why but it runs smooth . The reason i want to try Nvidia because it seem like for every tweak or issue that may be overcome in fsx , they always talk about tweaking this in Nvidia Inspector , do this in Nvidia drivers . An you can almost never see someone talk about AMD Vision Engine Control Center. So sometimes when i face issue in fsx i really don't know what to do if the issue has to deal with GPU. So Ben please post some reviews an screen shoot when you get your new card please .

Honestly if you are happy with the 7970, then don't bother switching. Honestly, there is no reason to fix something if it aint broke.

Yea i understand Ben but i get few issues in fsx that most simmers point out at Nvidia driver updates to sort the black screen issue . But like i said i don't run Nvidia on my pc just AMD RAdeon an the driver is up to date. But i will just try Nvidia see what happens . :)

Well, whatever floats your boat!

My 580 is sold and the 660ti(superclocked) is in transit. I'll have the tests up tomorrow for the 660ti.

Great stuff Ben. Are you running tests on the 580 before shipping it away to compare the results with the 660Ti's?

I will do this tonight. lol Thanks for reminding me haha

I really don't need to do FSMark11. We have found that GPU's only make a small 'dent' in FPS there. I am going to run Word Not Allowed's Cloud Test and your GPUMark.

I will also run these tests with my 660ti. - I seriously can't wait. I paid for overnight shipping LOL!

Just another sidenote, I found benchmarks that showed the 660tiSC (the one I got) is about 2-3% slower than a vanilla 670! I paid only 309.99 for the EVGA660Ti SC and the 670 is 399.99! What a deal!
