August 16, 201213 yr Looks like a fantastic card at a decent price. Would have maybe picked it up instead of a 670 if I was more patient. I doubt anyone will be dissapointed in it. Randy Swofford
August 17, 201213 yr I really want someone to push this card through FSMark11 and FSGPUMark. If it performs almost the same as the 670 and 680, then I'll get on an OC the daylights out of it lol

August 17, 201213 yr give me a couple of weeks :) Yay! If you can test it prove that it is nearly identical to the 670/680 in FSX, then I'll sell my 580 for 250bucks, save some cash up, and then cash out for an EVGA 660ti. This is easily the best bang for buck card I have ever seen. With a moderate OC, this performs as well as a 670 and ALMOST as good as a 680! - For 200bucks less! :shok: AMD really needs to step up their game. The 660ti ~ 7970... 660ti is 300, 7970 is 420-440.
August 18, 201213 yr If you can test it prove that it is nearly identical to the 670 FSX we'll see, because with our 580 the memory BW seems to be more than enough, but you can keep increasing your GFLOPS and the mem BW will eventually stop being enough. The 660Ti, once overclocked to 1300MHz can theoretically crunch 2x the GFLOPS a 580 can at 900MHz, that's twice as much!, but even overclocked to 3500MHz, the 660Ti doesn't even come close to the mem BW of the 580 / 670 / 680. when will it start limiting? no idea. I did a test with the 580 at 940MHz / 1254MHz and there was a slight (5%) perf hit compared to 940 / 2000MHz Not sure what to think

I am tech savvy but when it gets really technical I lose track LOL Anyways, I think the best way to figure things out is to test them in FSX. If you are reluctant to get a 660ti, I can sell my 580 and get one next week.

If you are reluctant to get a 660ti, I can sell my 580 and get one next week. It basically means that the 660Ti has twice the shader processing power of the 580 with less memory bandwidth, so it's sort of unbalanced in that regard, but I will be getting one, don't worry. If not a 660Ti, then a 670. It should be very easy to test for anyone with a 670 if the memory BW of the 660Ti is going to be limiting it or not. A comparison in clouds between a GTX670 with the core clock at a fixed value like say 1300MHz and the memory at stock 3000MHz, then the memory overclocked to 3300MHz for example, and then downclocked to 2500MHz. If lowering the memory to 2500MHz doesn't hit performance, a 660Ti with the memory at 3500MHz should do just fine

August 19, 201213 yr A post from overclock.net "As someone who owned a 660ti for a couple days before returning it, I can confirm that AA did murder the frame rate. If you want to play with 8x and 16x, it's not going to cut it. Look into a 670 at the minimum." I hope this isn't the case in FSX.
August 20, 201213 yr I hope this isn't the case in FSX. Nice post on that one Ben . That is what am looking for before i buy reviews from customers. When i first build my computer everyone said get the latest AMD HD Radeon Card . I was looking for people reviews at that time . But i didn't really get any because i didn't know about AVSIM at that time. So when i saw my friend Guitarmery videos here . That is when i said am getting myself an AMD card the latest one out there. But now seeing the truth about these cards boy i sure wish i had think of Nvidia at that time . Many tweaks that are talk about in AVSIM forum most simmers try it on Nvidia cards. So in a really sad way makes me feel left out of the picture from having a different card as you guys . Even when trying an autotweak here http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html . Bojote's also consider me in getting a better card GTX or ATI card not AMD :( . This is why i haven't really try most of the tweaks on AVSIM most of them talk about Nvidia Cards. Am not saying AMD doesn't perform good. But it looks like Nvidia for fsx perform better an they have better prices. So beside fsx i went out an got myself a new processor not for fsx,but for music production etc.. So by next week i will have i7 Extreme processor . I don't know how this will perform with fsx . But i really want to change from AMD to GTX now . I only run one sim on this studio computer an that is FSX. So this new processor kind of slow down my spending now. An the only Nvidia card i can afford now is GTX 560 1GB . Ben can you give me some advice about this card if it okay to run in FSX? :( Mr Leny CPU I7 8700K @ 5.0GHz , MOBO -Asus Maximus X Hero (WiFi AC),GPU - GTX1080 TI , RAM - CORSAIR Vengeance RGB 16GB DDR4 3600MHz SSD -Crucial MX500 1TB (P3D Install Only)OS- Samsung 960 EVO 500GB (Window 10 Pro 64)

If you save up a good bit of money and buy a really nice card, you will thank yourself in the end. If you can save up the money for a GTX660ti or 670, you will get much better performance in clouds and in most scenarios in FSX than when using your 7970.

I get payed every 2 weeks a good amount of money . For now i can afford the GTX 560 card . Until i get payed test Nvidia for the first time. If you could save your money for a few weeks/few months, you could afford a GTX660ti or 670. - I promise you that you won't regret it when you are running 2 or 4 SGSS in heavy clouds without a hitch! [Dazz back me on this lol]
August 20, 201213 yr Alrighty.... I've got my 580 up on Ebay. I should have my 660ti later this week. To anyone that wants a 660ti also, I will run some benchmarks for everyone.
