Weather Sources

Featured Replies

I'm connecting RCV4 via WideFS and AS2012 via Simconnect to FSX. The weather doesn't appear to be in synch. Where is RCV4 looking

for weather data? Are there any settings that need to be made to tell it where to look; or perhaps something needs to set in AS2012?

Thank you,

Ken Boardman

rc get's the weather from fsx, the only place where the weather is. everything else is just manipulating the weather.

only advice is to make you have the latest fsuipc, widefs, as2012 and follow the guidelines here in the forum on the setting for as2012.

Check the now "unofficial" hifi simulations support forum here on AVSIM.

AS2012 uses DWC which with SimConnect requires global weather mode which writes the weather around your aircraft everywhere in the FS global universe and not what is reported in the METARs at destination until you get there. The developers of AS2012 and FSUIPC provided a fix that reports destination weather from the AS2012 METAR to work around this. This does not fix the actual winds ai are responding to at destination weather which changes according to your aircraft location as you approach it. With the lag in ai pattern updating to changing weather and it is the ai pattern if present that RC uses as priority for runway assignment (examined at approach initiation and one more time closer in) you may get a runway reassignment during approach but still might have a conflict for other reasons.

Be sure you are using the latest AS2012 service packs and FSUIPC4 version. The latest FSUIPC version will use the METAR winds for ATIS reporting directly from AS2012 and not as usually measured directly from FSX.
