August 15, 201213 yr I'm strongly considering buying WideFS for some other software and am wondering what effect this might have on RC4. I don't intend to move RC to the client computer, at least not anytime soon. So, is there anything I will need to set up or do differently on RC with WideFS installed? I know that when you update the scenery data with makerwys.exe it asks if this is a WideFS configuration? Would I answer yes if I'm still running RC on the FSX computer? Thanks for RC. It has made flight simming much more enjoyable. Alan

I have RC and FS Commander on the client computer. In my experience, RC is much more responsive than when I was running it on the FSX machine.
August 21, 201213 yr Question. I want to run FScommander 9.2 and RC4 on a seperate computer but it seems a little daunting. Is this easy to do. How much extra time does it take everytime I set up FSX? How much does it costs? Do I need the registered version of FSUIPC? Can I run UT2 on client computer as well? I have Windows 7 on both computers AND FSX on both. Thanks if you can help anyone?

Very easy using WideFS How much extra time does it take everytime I set up FSX? No extra time once you have it configured, which is very easy How much does it costs? Do I need the registered version of FSUIPC? You will need WideFS and FSuipc best bought as a dual licence bundle. A registered FSuipc gives so many benefits that it is almost crazy not to have it. http://secure.simmarket.com/pete-dowson.mhtml FSCommander is definitely better running on a separate computer for its great moving map and I feel that RC4 runs better over WideFS than it did when I had it on the FSX machine. AS2012 is also better on a seperate machine

AS2012 is also better on a seperate machine I compleely agree. The response time to a keystroke from RC4 is much faster on a separate machine. For example, you request an approach. Over WideFS, RC responds immediately. When I had RC on the same system as FSX, this might take 10 seconds or even more. Same with requesting a runway for takeoff.
