Let me please make one thing clear. The purpose of this post was NOT to ask for any illegal codes/cracks/etc. As can be clearly seen at the begining, I accepted that fact that I had lost my registration code as 'my fault' and was fully prepared to PURCHASE a replacement product.

I was told that V4.70 was made freeware. I have also been told that it's not.

I do not know which statement is correct or incorrect.

At the end of the day I have decided that as I purchased FSNav, I'm happy to continue using it. There's not much I can do if someone doesn't believe me, but I'm not going to worry about it. If, ultimately, someone from the AVSIM staff tells me it is necessary to delete FSNav 4.70 in order to keep my AVSIM membership, then I will do so immediately. Though how on earth I'll be able to prove that, I don't know - they'll just have to trust me. In much the same way I suppose as you'll all just have to trust that I did purchase a copy for FS2K2 many years ago.

Oh dear, what a mess :-(

I think you may have misunderstood my post. I appreciate your efforts to help, but am worried that you may have problems here posting that info. As post #9 shows, my problem was resolved yesterday.

Looks like we got to a dead point here. Gavin is a legitimate owner of FSNav, just like me and many folks in this forum. He just lost his key.

Now let me explain my mistake. I was 100% sure FSNav is now freeware and it is OK to register it with one common key data which is widely available around once you spend a few minutes to find it. I saw a text said to be written by Holge (FSNav's creator), confirming that. And I read similar statements in a few threads. I certainly don't believe everything I read but, on the other hand, I don't have tools to check each issue at its source (especially if there is no more source).

But now things went a bit off road. I started getting PM's, even from folks who just deliberately registered here, with requests for the key!

Listen, mates, I am not going to share my key, and since now I lost my confidence the shared key was really supported by Holge, I won't point you to it either. Sorry!

If you really want it, look for it by yourselves.

Since Gavin asked for help and now the problem is solved, I would like to ask moderators to lock this topic. I hope Gavin agrees with me. Thank you!
