Hi Gents....Im in the process of getting tutorial number two done but when I get to this part/section....

"...and that TRANSFER BUS OFF, SOURCE OFF, and GEN OFF BUS Lights are illuminated. "

well transfer bus off and source off arent iluminated. Only Gen off buss gets iluminated.

Thanks in advance

Hi!

Are your engines running?

Can you be a bit more speific on what you're doing there and trying to do?

Haven't you connected the ground power or APU generators?

Page 57 of tutorial 2, I think.

A little reading on FCOM will help you understanding what the lights are used for.

However, the meaning of the lights are written on them.

They are amber lights, so, there is something wrong if they are lighted.

Now, TRANSFER BUS OFF and SOURCE OFF means that both systems are OFF, unpowered.

GEN OFF BUS is illuminated BLUE meaning that is not a caution but an advise, in this case, it let you know that generator is not powering the plane.

The APU blue light is a bit different because uses the same logic but only when the APU is fully running (so, generator avaiable and ready to supply)

Now, following this logic you have the AC power on the aircraft, but the engines are still off or you are not using their generators, this means that you're already feeding the aircraft with the only 2 sources left, APU or ground power.

I suppose you turned on the ground power and this was not mentioned in the tutorial.

I don't think you're using APU as it will started later in page 57-58

Sometimes understanding what a light does is better than reading a list and executing like a robot.

If you read only without understanding you will do an error (we all do errors) and you will be not able to find it without re-reading all the list. If you know what the wrong thing is, you will solve without the list.

Now you know that source off (both) and XFER bus off at the same time means that probably the aircraft is unpowered, all 4 off, means that aircraft is fully powered. If the list wants the lights ON, you can do 2 things:

1-Unpower the aircraft

2-(I prefer) continue to read to understand what I'm doing, if I'm powering the aircraft, it is a nonsense to turn it OFF then back on.

At page 57 and 56 of the tutorial 2 is explained that you are switching on the aircraft, so, turning the battery on alone
