August 20, 201213 yr Hmm I've been doing flights today and been experiencing some odd joystick issues. So I load up FSX, set everything up and joystick is working and all fine. Then at random times it can just stop working altogether and I look in the controls menu of flight sim and it isn't listed as one of the devices. Although It still listed in device manager and I look in the settings and it seems to be working there but inside FSX it just stops. It does it at random times so I could be on the ground or in the air. Has anyone had this issue before or know a way to fix it? Never had it before. August 20, 201213 yr Hi Matt Do you have lots of USB devices plugged in or just this joystick on its own, with its throttle? I was thinking about getting the X52 Pro, so would be interested to know your setup, and hopefully, what resolves this... Richard... Amateur Pilot and UK Web Hosting Guru 🙂

I wouldn't say a lot of devices - I've tried different ports and the problem still occurs. The X52 has one USB cable as the stick and throttle connect to each other via another cable. I've had this for a good 3 years + and it's always been working and never had any issues until this one. I have a feeling it might be related to me using Windows 8 RTM in terms of drivers but these things normally work fine with just plug and play. August 21, 201213 yr Author Just tried to see if setting all the controls as a profile using the software would help but doesn't seem to have made much of a difference. August 21, 201213 yr Moderator The cable between modules has been known to get loose. Have you tried moving this when the problem occurs? Also check your power settings for the USB ports - possibly they are set to power down. Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
August 25, 201213 yr Author This seems to be any joystick in general not just the X52. Vote to fix transparent sun visors having no effect on the sun glare effect in MSFS at: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/sun-shades-sun-visors-not-influencing-light-in-cockpit/691565/
August 26, 201213 yr Author Just an update: This seems to be an issue with Flight Simulator X being run on Windows 8 RTM as a friend of mine just experienced the same issue. (Not the same joystick) - Hopefully a solution can be found for this problem when 8 releases to the public. December 6, 201213 yr Author Anyone found any solutions to this? It's still an issue with joysticks and Windows 8 even with the latest version of the operating system.
