August 26, 201213 yr Hello This is a question for Pro Flight Emulator users. I noticed many times Pro Flight Emulator clears to land in the runway that AI planes are using to take off, i.e., the wrong runway. Any cure for this problem?
August 27, 201213 yr Hi, you could always request another runway from PFE and the request is always granted. I don't know of another way... Regards, Jure
August 27, 201213 yr This happens with PFE and RC4. It happens when there is no AI planes taking off or landing at the time PFE or RC decide which runway to use. So, they choose based on winds. Every airport in FS has a default runway for take offs and landings and it will keep them open, even if the winds are a opposite as long as it is 5kts or below. The best way to over come it is to use Active Sky which has an option of keeping the same wind direction 80 miles out of the destination airport. Another payware program I use along with Active sky is FS Flight Keeper, which along with many features has an ASCAR device you can install in your panel and can tell you which runways are being used by the AI at your destination 60 miles out. So, if PFE or RC give the wrong runway, you can request of the correct runway. Naif Almazroa My Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/Youmou0205
August 27, 201213 yr Yes, within the PFE options you can bring up the Data for any airport in the world. Then you can mark the runways T, L, X or B Takeoff only, Landing Only, Closed or Both. At KEWR for example I have: 4L- T 4R- L 22L-L 22R- T Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
August 27, 201213 yr It's even worse when there is a crosswind with a component of up to around 5kts or slightly more I think. In these cases the rwy keeps being changed which is a nightmare. There's very little that can be done. It's just one of those anomalies that have to be lived with unfortunately. August 27, 201213 yr Author I forgot to say that I also use ActiveSky, so that´s why I have this problem, since it depends on the wind direction. Actually I thought that was landing in the wrong runway when I see AI planes taking off in my oposite way. Not sure if I choose the runway to land in the previous menu of PFE wll cure the problem because winds changes during the flight. Anyway thank you very much for your time answering my questions
