September 1, 201213 yr I have been recently monitoring memory usage while flying fs. It, usually, reaches 1.3gb and the most it had reached was 1.8 with QW BAE146. I had a flight today with ifly from Aerosoft's EHAM to Aerosoft's EDDF and then I did the retern trip with out exiting the sim. To my surprise, the memory usage for FS9 reached 3.2GB and the total usage was 5.2GB.. I thought 3GB was the maximum for 32bit applications including FS9. Is that normal? And is it true that 3gb is the maximum? Naif Almazroa My Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/Youmou0205
September 1, 201213 yr Someone with more technical expertise may correct me, but I believe what you may be thinking of is the fact that 32-bit versions of Windows can only utilize 3GB of physical RAM. There may also be limits on the memory (both physical and/or virtual) which 32-bit applications can address, but if so I am not aware of what they might be. I do know, however that Microsoft recommends a fair-sized swap file (virtual memory) for all versions of Windows, both 32-bit and 64-bit, no matter how much physical RAM the OS can address. I assume there's a reason for that.
September 1, 201213 yr I have 64 bit FS9 both sceneries and no problems. Have you installed any other scenery lately....this could be something else to look at..
September 1, 201213 yr Author I have 64 bit FS9 both sceneries and no problems. Have you installed any other scenery lately....this could be something else to look at.. I wasn't complaining. My flight was smooth and everything went OK. I was just wondering regarding the maximum memory usage. Naif Almazroa My Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/Youmou0205
