July 2, 200421 yr Hi Luca,I wouldn't say the 4.2's are smoother. They just seem more stable. The image quality(IQ) in the 4.6's sure is nice. They fixed one or two things dealing with FS2004 IQ. But with anything later then the 4.2's I lose Anti-Aliasing very easily. If you don't have any problem with the 4.6's I would recommend sticking with them, because...I thought for sure there was some kind of a bug surfacing causing my sim to crash in .dll's when using the 4.6's. Usually the crash is with g3d.dll. But I feel kind of little foolish proclaiming it must have been a Cat 4.6 bug because I went back to the 4.2's and have still been getting the crash. :( I beginning to think it's something I've added to my sim. But I don't know what. And tracking it down could be rather difficult. I have a lot of stuff added on. Since going back to the 4.2's has not solved my problem I would recommend you stick with what you got if their working real good for you.Regards,Jim
July 2, 200421 yr well they work fine except the stutter which started to kick in when I disabled fastwrites. I must have definitively misunderstood the forum posts as I thought 4.2 performance was smoother than 4.6 but probably I'm only dreaming it :-)thanks for your fast reply!p.s.I didn't get a chance to reply your message on the ffs forum :-)I've finally managed to get a good combination of water/ski textures and performance.regarding the captainsim competition I've won along with other 50(?) flightsimmers one aircraft from the selection of 8 they're going to build. Unfortunately considering their time schedules I'll only be able to claim my price in 2010! :-)RLuca
