September 15, 201213 yr Author Thanks much Guys, it is indeed a very scenic approach, the funny part is, I did the flight offline, so I removed an intersection from the ILS 19 approach, to suit the route I was flying, cause I was being lazy, but I ended up passing a mere 500 feet away from some mountains <_<
September 15, 201213 yr Those are all absolutely stunning screenshots, but the last one is simply the best. That mountain range in the background looks absolutely real. flo Florian
September 16, 201213 yr Great shots indeed. I just recently flew a United -800 NGX from KDEN to KJAC, and found I had to use flaps 40 and autobrakes set to MAX to handle the short runway, not to mention the steeper than normal 3 degree glideslope. KJAC runway 19 is a very interesting approach, considering I tried to adapt my flying to the real world noise abatement rules at the airport. I'm not positive, but I believe 737s seldom use this airport, because of their high approach speeds. The real world airlines that do use KJAC use the 757 or A319 (American and United). Also, when I flew out of KJAC to go to KORD (replicating another real world United flight, which actually uses the 757), I had to unload plenty of passenger/cargo weight just to meet the maximum weight limit for the -800 out of that short runway, and I used flaps 15 instead of the normal flaps 5. All this calculation for the additional flaps on landing and takeoff were courtesy of TOPCAT, and I can now say that KJAC is the shortest runway I have ever had the pleasure of using with the PMDG NGX!
