Another ORBX buy..and a question...

Featured Replies

I am so impressed with ORBX Australia and New Zealand that the wife is letting me get the Pacific Northwest scenery. Anacortes is also going to be bought because we honeymooned there and i want it for sentimental reasons. But if i have Pac Northwest installed, doesnt that cover Anacortes already? Or does the Anacortes scenery ORBX sells on their site make that airport and area even more detailed?

I cant wait to get this installed..im downloading it now...does anyone have pics of what Port Angeles looks like with ORBX?

Nope: PNW is an improvement of all of the "general" PNW (per the Google Earth KML on the Orbx site) area, plus some improvements to all/most of the airports/airfields in side that area. On top of those improved fields there are some twenty(?) selected airfields that are highly detailed, and often including the area around those fields. Anacortes is one of those. It's immediate neighbours are the beautiful KORS - Orcas Island and Skagit Regional Airport.

Gotta get 'em Jason, along with that Waco!

If your rig can handle 74S, I'd get it. Form the screenshots, it looks great!

well i purchased anacortes and the nearby orcas island and harvey field over near paine field, and while they drag a bit on the fps, they are flyable..very nice sceneries.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but could you give a bit of an example of how much the fps loss is. Are you flying a default, or an addon? Thanks!

ok..well, i have flown both the real air scout and the default cessna 172 into both anacortes and orcas and normally i run pegged at 30fps, unless im in a crazy urban area or airport that has a lot of action going on (KSEA or NYC come to mind) flying into anacortes will drop me to around 15-17fps, which for me is still flyable, just not ideal.

Use the control panel to shut some features off. I stay pegged at 30 fps over 74s.

The 3D grass is a big fps killer along with the detailed marina.
