Any FSnavigator lovers out there..check this out
now i am assuming people are having issues with this in DX9 FSX...Has anyone tried it in DX10 FSX, because i suspect it will handle the window issue a lot better in dx10

FSGenesis worth it?
I bought the FSG meshes about six months ago and they definitely improve the FSX world..especially europe and asia..i bought ALL of them so my whole FSX globe is FSG meshed covered and even in the USA things look great and work well with the ORBX sceneries at transition points in and out of ORBX coverage

Olympia to Seattle Washington
Youre right in my FSX neighborhood...i fly out of Port Angeles, WA (KCLM) which is to the northwest, and im all over that area...great shots

It just hit me...
Im not being negative, I thoroughly enjoy FSX and the many addons i have used for it over the years. FSX has not lost its luster for me after all this time, im probably flying it more now than i did when it was brand new. But i dont see the big appeal of P3D. It looks about the same as FSX to to me. And honestly, if i saw it on a shelf at wal mart or best buy, id probably buy it, i just love this genre that much. But the pricing model that LM has for it now is a BIG turn off for me. And it doesnt look like it is going to change anytime soon. Im not being negative, im being real.

It just hit me...
Until LM decides to go full retail with P3D, im not touching it..

shaking my head....
I got curious and went to the properties folder of my fsx install... It took a minute or so to read all the files.. 110 GB smh... how big is too big? I blame ORBX

Why Ai traffic Why?
If you use MyTraffic 2013 or MyTraffic 5.4a, your settings for AI should be no more than 50% for airliners. This comes from the mouth of the developer himself. Anything more than that is just adding more "eye candy" and not what he intended to be "realistic" AI settings I have MyTraffic 5.4a Professional and have the seetings at 55% airliners and 35% GA traffic and that is plenty of traffic for me. Here is the link to that thread from the support forum for MyTraffic http://forum.simflight.com/topic/71618-where-should-the-ai-traffic-sliders-be-for-a-realistic-ai-world/

Which is better REX or AS2012
Same here. Not impressed at all. i use AS2012 for the wx engine and REX for the textures.

SimPlates
you can get the same info for free at http://skyvector.com/ and http://www.airnav.com/ Skyvector is almost required by me now for VFR flying

Is it possible to get WOAI traffic to do real traffic routes?
Back in the day thats all we had for AI was ground models that moved around and the planes took off, but disappeared soon after takeoff
-
Is it possible to get WOAI traffic to do real traffic routes?
i dont see why people insist on having AI traffic follow real aircraft routes...The purpose of AI in this sim is for it to look pretty while it is on the ground and make the airports look alive, once they are in the air i forget about them, and more often than not they are a nuisance while you are trying to land. I worry about my plane and how i am doing following my chosen route, and AI traffic is pure eye candy It is true that Ultimate Traffic X has the AI follow real routes, My Traffic however comes with more airlines, more cargo carriers, military traffic, GA traffic, and even has the option to have "historic" airline schedules, so if you wanna fly with PanAM and TWA and Braniff at your gates, you can.

Another ORBX buy..and a question...
ok..well, i have flown both the real air scout and the default cessna 172 into both anacortes and orcas and normally i run pegged at 30fps, unless im in a crazy urban area or airport that has a lot of action going on (KSEA or NYC come to mind) flying into anacortes will drop me to around 15-17fps, which for me is still flyable, just not ideal.
-
Another ORBX buy..and a question...
well i purchased anacortes and the nearby orcas island and harvey field over near paine field, and while they drag a bit on the fps, they are flyable..very nice sceneries.

Problem with REX Essential weather engine
I have a question about ASE and the cloud re-draw supression. Say i take off from airport A and weather is fine, but i land at airport B and weather is crappy and IFR. Does ASE draw the crappy weather then? Is there some sort of tripwire between two stations reports that force it to draw new clouds, otherwise it wouldnt be realistic? I like using the cloud re draw thing, but it seems it is more for local VFR flying where there wont be that big a change in weather rather than long distance hauls where you may see sunny on one end and Rainy and foggy on the other

Why do you fly what you fly in a sim?
ever since i purchased one ORBX scenery, it quickly turned into buying ALL of their sceneries and wishing the rest of the world was ORBX covered. As for plane types, ive always since FS 5.1 been low and slow and i love The Real Air Bellanca Scout and Aerosofts DHC2 Beaver, and Carenados Cessna 182T G1000 is an awesome plane also

Will there be another MSFS? Should there be another MSFS?
i think one thing that needs to be considered is that a LOT of us have sunk quite a bit of cash into MSFS and various addons to just say "hey look new shiny flightsim" and expect everyone to migrate to it. Yes Xplane is growing its addon community, but the experiences i have had with that sim range from frustrating to worse. LM's P3D, while being the spiritual successor to FSX turns me off simply because it is NOT a retail product, and LM could choose at any time to pull the rug out from everyone. And their pricing model is not ideal IMO. I think it would be ideal for ORBX to maybe give it a shot, but thats asking for a lot.
