September 23, 201213 yr is there a way to customize the traffic routes? or do they just do what they want when they want? Jerad Burns
September 23, 201213 yr You can customize the WOAI traffic files using AIFP (http://www.stuff4fs.com/newpage.asp?Folder=AIFP) although it's pretty tedious. The easiest, though more expensive option, is to go with a commercial product that offers real flight schedules.
September 23, 201213 yr Ya, I'm thinking about saving up and getting My Traffic X 2013, I agree, WOAI's routes are way too outdated.

No, .bgl based traffic plans like WOAI and MyTraffic basically only fly from point A to point B, you cant make they fly specific waypoints between the two airports they are assigned to takeoff from and fly to. Granted you can program them to depart a certain airport and fly to another specific airport, they will only go direct. If you want an AI package that actually flys via waypoints and routes you will need to buy Ultimate Traffic X. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
September 23, 201213 yr i dont see why people insist on having AI traffic follow real aircraft routes...The purpose of AI in this sim is for it to look pretty while it is on the ground and make the airports look alive, once they are in the air i forget about them, and more often than not they are a nuisance while you are trying to land. I worry about my plane and how i am doing following my chosen route, and AI traffic is pure eye candy It is true that Ultimate Traffic X has the AI follow real routes, My Traffic however comes with more airlines, more cargo carriers, military traffic, GA traffic, and even has the option to have "historic" airline schedules, so if you wanna fly with PanAM and TWA and Braniff at your gates, you can.
September 23, 201213 yr Author Yeah I want my AI traffic to follow real routes so when I am in traffic pattern to land , the AI traffic will be in pattern as well. It makes it more realistic. Jerad Burns

Seeing AI on the ground is good but for me the value of AI doubles when they follow jet routes and you do the same because you get to interact with the AI in a new dimension particularly on heavy routes. If the only reason for Ai was to look pretty, then one might as well used static models at the gates, they would look just as pretty and that would be a frame saver. Back in the day thats all we had for AI was ground models that moved around and the planes took off, but disappeared soon after takeoff
