CTD accessing Sound Settings

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Using FS2Crew Voice in the NGX enroute and decide to access Settings/Sound menu. FSX freezes for 10 secs and CTD's. Happened several times now. Any ideas?

An easy problem to avoid of course - balance engine sound etc in the set-up stage.

I wondered about memory, am I just asking too much of my 0's and 1's? I have 4GB RAM on a 4Ghz system using GTX 570 card with 1024. Oh, and a small stuffed lemming on my desk.

Any similar experiences/fixes out there? (I would consider donating the Lemming to the best or most bizarre answer...)

Regards,

Gareth

Thanks Bryan! On reflection I think it could be ENB related. ENB actually works rather well on my rig but I am still evaluating... Which brings me to an important input into this process ...

Bryan, may I ask for your personal view on a hardware question? Many simmers have been down this road I realise and I will be going to the AVSIM hardware forum about this soon as - but at this point I have an almost legacy setup: Intel E8600 dual core (cool and solid OC to 4Gh), 4Gb DDR2, plus the recent addition of a GTX570. Very satisfactory all in all, but in your personal experience would you recommend a 'heart transplant' to an i2500 OC'd to 4.4Gb with 8Gb DDR3 combo I have my eye on? What am I likely to gain?

All the best,

Gareth

Hi Garth,

What is ENB?

Regarding Hardware: It changes so fast I can't even keep up.

I basically upgrade once every 3 years. I'll become an expert on the latest and greatest for a week while I study what to buy... then I forget about it all a week later... no point in retaining it as the the latest and greatest changes every month.

Your best bet for real expert current hardware advise is the Avsim Hardware forum!

Cheers,
