Low fps after take off only.

Featured Replies

Hello, I need some help. I had to reset my fsx cfg due to some problems I had. I set up cfg and nvidia inspector / fsx settings to per Kostas guide.I have done 4 test flights at various airports KSFO,KPHX, KRNO,KLAS and at airports my FPS is 25 to 30 but 30 seconds after take off they drop to 10 or less. I landed at same airport i took off from and without reloading flight taxied back to same runway and took off again and the FPS was at 25 + this time. This happened at all the airports I tried. Landing at all airports is fine its just the first takeoff that's a problem. I attached my fsx.cfg file if needed. I,m using Pmdg ngx, Rex essentials, Ultimate traffic 2.

Thanks for any help.

This problem occurs to me, too with various aircraft. But I don't consider it a huge problem, and never tried to fix it, because it's only shortly after take-off, so I don't regard it necessary for my sim to run totally smooth on TO, as long as it doesn't stutter on approach.

I fixed the problem I had a wrong entry in my bufferpool cfg tweak. Now no fps loss after takeoff.

Tom,

Would you care to tell me what that "fix" was? I also suffer occasional serious framerate drops shortly after take off, but it does not happen every time.

Christopher , I had a mistake in my fsx.cfg file with a buffer pool tweak I made. Mine was every takeoff so dont know what to tell you. I suggest using kostas guide for setting up fsx follow it all and you should get good results. Now I have no troubles with fps after takeoff. I started with a clean Fsx.cfg file and worked from there. I had a lot of junk in it from software I don't use anymore.

This might sound stupid, but for me, if I delete the fsx.cfg once evry 3 months or so, I get an instant and lasting (for about 3 months) fps boost. Crazy, but I don't change aything else, whatever tweaks that were in the old one go in the new one.

ORBX- the way to go

Sincerely, John McGee
