Looks very nice, who's Airbus is that? Thomas Ruth or Wilco, I'm assuming.

Cool, thanks! Is the POSKY 330 DX 10 compatible? (DX9 on my machine is horrid, like really bad) Also, since it's POSKY, does it have a vc and panel?

I now have a Radeon hd 8560 (i think)... Never had any problems with it.

My rig never goes below 25fps. Even with UT2 on full sliders But like I said Ive spend hours and hours tweaking and testing.

Run FSMark11 and GPUMark then you can let your numbers speak for themselves.

Just for future reference, when you come into a forum with highly controversial data, it is best to give credible and controlled benchmarks/tests to support them.

So, I am looking at this new rig. I have a slew of options for a GPU. I'd like to run the NGX, REX, and ORBX all at 30 fps most of the time. I know an OC'd 3770 will do that. Question is which GPU? I am thinking of a 660 2GB EVGA superclocked. Could anyone better this for the same price?

I'm an ATI user from way back running 2 6950 Dirt3 edition Sapphire cards. The AMD vs nVidia debate is endless so do not expect too many rational or definitive answers to such a query. Personally after all these years I think it boils down to user experience.

Example: I refuse to upgrade my driver from 12.3 because frankly I'm almost positive it will make FSX performance worse. This is based on past upgrades. I can go spend my money on a GTX 680 and pull up Word Not Allowed's great work and be done with the tweaking in a minute or two. Win for nVidia user experience!

In real life: The cards handle FSX just fine but I get the feeling (a total guess?) that a GTX 680 or 2 would make a perceptual difference due to the proprietary nature of FSX and nVidia (mind you this is likely not as quantifiable as we would like but I am sure many will argue it is so). Maybe even end the chunky self-shadows.

Reality: There is a larger nVidia knowledge base on these forums and more tweaking tips and I think this makes for a better FSX user experience. Most of the community seems to run mid-level rigs with mid-level GPUs. Its my completely un-qualifed view that in this range you want an nVidia GPU. Are 7990 guys worse off than 680 guys? Probably not as much as most would like to think. If something goes wrong will a 680 guy get a better answer from the real wizards on these forums? Oh yeah! Can the 7990 guy call AMD tech support on FSX and ask for help? I highly doubt it.

I enjoy my AMD products but I am strongly contemplating switching over this holiday season (I will do this when NewEgg runs a killer deal). Time to take a big gulp of Kool-aid and get my special haircut! :)

Do it! :Big Grin: :Nerd:

The GTX670s have already dropped in price....

I have done some searching around for a 660ti EVGA. The lowest price I found was $310. Could anyone beat that? The rig is pricey at $1600, so every dollar saved helps.

THIS one is 289.99 (once you add it to your cart)

Lol... Have had my eye on a GTX680 4GB for a while.

Now I just need Ben Cap to tell me what flavor Kool-aid to buy and where to get my special haircut.

Anyone know anyone who wants 2 1 year old 6950s?

These damn hobbies!

:LMAO:

If you have the money then by all means get the 680... :Big Grin:

I was just making a suggestion. ^_^

Put 'em up on Ebay and they will be gone in a blink of an eye. There is a shockingly huge market for used electronics.... I've sold off most of my old hardware over the years via Ebay.

Lol...It's a good idea.

Waiting for Newegg and making sure the "Price is Right".

2013 will likely see me an nVidia owner.
