Geisha International BBJ

Featured Replies

This is not a news story about a new (or closed) VA reopening, but about keeping a memory alive.

In 1997 my late wife Kim became the first recognized (by Flightsim.com) female VA CEO with her airline Geisha Air. She is recognized in the Who's Who at flightsim.com for her accomplishment. Her first Boeing 747-400 was painted by Bob Trembley and was loaded into their library in February 1998, and before her death in June of that year the airline grew to an 11 pilot roster. A second Geisha Air aircraft was posted 2 days before she died of Pancreatic Cancer as a tribute to her fight.

10 years later a default 747-400 was painted by our daughter to commemorate the 10th anniversary of her passing, it can also be found on flightsim.com. Shortly after this aircraft was completed Sarah herself fell to the same cancer that took her mother, her passing came in January, 2011. Several attempts to launch Geisha Air into a viable VA by Sarah were always interrupted; the concept of the airline just wasn’t a popular draw for pilots of the current era of the hobby.

Last month I painted a BBJ in the same Spirit as Geisha Airlines, with new Geisha International markings. One side is in English, the other in Japanese as had always been the intention. Details of the service are not important; if you are aware of the Geisha culture then you would have an idea of what to expect on the airlines 10 hour flights from the US to Japan. For the 18-20 ultra business class passengers the high cost of the flight would be worth it. I’m not planning to launch the airline; this was merely an exercise to keep the memory of Geisha Air alive.

You got it I am sending you email at your email address. I would suggest that you remove your email address from this post to avoid spams being emailed to you. Notice how I write your email address in this post so that bots would not be able to read your e-mail address properly and start spamming.

I do not own EL AL virtual although I am member of that VA. Believe me I wish I can own a nice virtual airline!! ha ha ha ha
