September 30, 201213 yr I have been trying to use VoxATC with P3D. It does run and is functional but whenever I run the Indexer it picks up the FSX directory rather than P3D and I cannot find a way to change it. As a result, where I have addon scenery I seem to get planes parked half in buildings etc. I use FSXtoP3D to install into P3D and everything else works fine. Any thoughts appreciated. Cheers
September 30, 201213 yr I have had trouble with trusting that installer. It messes things up without informing you, hides folders... Why not just make P3D use as its scenery, the folders of FSX? And revert to status before the use of the installer. It hides the FSX I think, and its app subfolders, a real messy thing that installer, i think it should be disallowed, as it acts in mysterious ways. To trick an addon installer, I sometimes rename my FSX to realFSX and make an empty FSX with a copy of FSX.exe in it, then run the addon, this is then copied to P3D, and also i check on the exe.xml and dll.xml files for FSX to see it some info was added. I there is edit the P3D one, if none copy the fsx one, edit it to trim to needed entries and corrected paths. Another trick is to put an fsx.exe into the P3D folder for those addon installers that look for it and when seen accept the P3D folder, as is, as a real FSX . UTX's setup tool works this way Of course this may get me sued, but heck I got 40 bucks in the bank they can have it all LOL
October 6, 201213 yr VoxATC gets confused when you have P3D installed. it looks in the "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\FSX" folder for the scenery.cfg file and not in the Prepar3D folder in the ProgramData folder as it is designed to for with FSX and not P3D. to overcome this matter you will need some kind of tool like "FSX to Prepar3D Migration Tool" found here: http://www.flightsim...-migration-tool you could also read my full Eval I did with VoxATC and Prepar3D here: http://forum.avsim.n...-the-p3d-water/ Joel Strikovsky
