After taking a 2 month break from the 737, I decided it would be a good idea to refresh my skills with the aircraft by completing tutorial 1. I have done everything right up to the point where i was unable to descend to the runway and I had missed the approach. I believe the step i missed was 59jnk.png I could not figure out how to do this and i believe it was the reason of why I missed my approach. If someone could explain this to me or even post a screenshot I would appreciate it. Thanks! ~ Corey

Definetely that wasn't the cause of your porblem. You might not intercept glide slope or missed other things.

You can set it up using mins knob on this panel near MCP.

Thanks! But I am still do not understand what I did wrong could it be because i set the HGS wrong?

precision approach i was not flying manually all auto pilot.

Tutorial #1 is an autoland if I recall, so did you have both Command A & B on and the ILS frequency tuned in both in NAV1 and 2?

 

Did you also capture the G/S and arm the approach?

Yes it is a auto land approach, I had both command 1 & B on but i did not have the ils frequency tuned in on both NAV 2

I did not put in the ILS frequency on the right side nav2 and I am assuming this was the problem? (the picture is from tutorial 1)

That's impossible. Looks like you've been flying enitre flight on CMD A, then pressed CMD B, it turned on, but G/S mode was disarmed.

Yea I used CMD A the whole flight then turned on CMD B for landing. So i had the glide slope disarmed which would explain why I did not descend toward the runway but instead floated over it at about 2,000 feet?

Make sure you intercept the GS from below!

Did you engage the VOR/LOC and APP modes? If you don't do that the descent stops at the altitude limit that you've set on the MCP, which could have been 2,000 feet.
