October 2, 201213 yr Hi guys, I did a missed approach the other day and noticed that the FO did not follow the normal go around procedure. I have had the software for a whiles but I very rarely do a go around so I just noticed it. Is there anything else special I need to do other then calling "go around" to have him react? Thanks Chris Chris Verner Home cockpit builder ...well trying anyway
October 3, 201213 yr Commercial Member Hi Chris, From the manual: Go Around Procedures To initiate a go around, press the TOGA button and make the following voice commands: “GOING AROUND” “FLAPS 15” Pitch the nose up to approximately 15 degrees. The FO will call “POSITIVE RATE”. After the FO has called "Positive Rate" make the following commands: “GEAR UP” 400 feet above the runway: “SELECT HEADING SELECT” or “SELECT LNAV” At acceleration height, call "FLAPS ___" according to the flap retraction schedule. After flap retraction to the planned flap setting, select LVL CHG. VNAV may be selected if the flaps are up. Verify that climb thrust is set. Call for the “AFTER TAKEOFF CHECKLIST” after the aircraft is in a clean configuration. Continue to the alternate airport or shoot the approach again. If shooting the approach again, cycle the Mode to “LANDING” before calling for Flap Extensions, Landing Gear and commencing the 'Landing Checklist'. Notes: For the “GO AROUND” call to take effect in the simulation, the FS2Crew Display Mode on the Main Panel must display: 'LANDING'. B.
