Soaring over Kansas Farmland

Featured Replies

Another Carenado bird, enjoying the Kansas farmland and endless green pastures... A pilot who really inspired me to take an interest in aerial photography in real life, was Bill Garnett. He specialized in aerial photography and was published in several magazines. I had the rare opportunity to fly with Bill while I was living in Napa, California in the 80's. I flew with him a few times in his polished Cessna 170 and took pictures, and subjected my photography to his skilled eye. I was told he never took up passengers, but I was an exception, along with a friend of mine. Bill could see in our eyes our love of aviation and flight. My first time touching the controls of an aircraft was in Bill's 170, over the Napa Valley. Sadly Bill has passed on but I am sure he is taking pictures for God in the heavens. You can learn more about him and his life here:
