Proving My Own Ignorance

Quick answer: no

How about if you have that "virtual PC" program that allows you to run windows and any windows app?Mike Tucson, AZ"You must be the change you wish to see in the world"--Mahatma Gandhi

I used to run FS98 on a G4 mac, but that was with a hardware PC-card (with an AMD processor) in a PCI-slot, no Windows emulation as with VirtualPC. VirtualPC wasn't able to run FS98 decently, let alone any of the later MS flight sims. With the demise of Fly! and the release of FS2000 I had no choice but to buy a PC if I wanted to continue with the latest flight sims.A couple of years ago there was an anouncement that FS200x was going to be ported to the mac platform (not by Microsoft but by another company whose name I can't remember). I assume that project has been abandoned since, because I never heard anything about it anymore.Right now, if you want to fly on the mac, you still have a choice between Xplane and Fly II (a small but devoted and talented group of people continues developing for it). It doesn't look like there will ever again be another version of MSFS for the mac. Though I can't help dreaming about how it would run on a multiprocessor G5 under OS X...Paul

Does anyone know if other simulation games like x-plane work on MAC?

X-Plane runs very well on a mac.-Mikkel

c'mon... Windows XP is quite stable enought. :-) (as far as I know, since I can't afford a Mac)

with today's dirt cheap PC's, why not just buy one? If you can aford a MAC you certainly can buy a PC.:-wave

I have never had a crash running Win Xp Pro. For the life of me I cannot see why folks want to run Macs or Linux Systems (Sure Linex runs servers well but that's different)when such "workarounds" etc are needed to run common programs. Maybe some folks just cannot stand M$ but I can build my web site, run my simulations, chat, edit photos and play all FPS like the great America's Army game without headaches and much FASTER to! I think it's time the Apple is chosen simply for photo editing because it never will be as good or campatiable as Windows although it trys to mimic it at times! Do yourself a favor and go Windows, you will thank yourself later..Best Wishes,
Randy J. Smith

P M D G's 747-400

coming to a runway near you
Caution! Randy a Mac can do a lot more in different areas that a PC can not do for example audio or video editing..it is preferred for these jobs at industry standard and the fact it was M$ copied the mac system not the other way round!. And it is just not audio and video...the majority of newspapers, magazines and other print use Macs as they are seen as much more reliable and versitile..Mac systems are much more advanced than pcs in many respects. If you have had no crashes you are in a very, very small minority..I have had literally hundreds!

Each one has their advantages and disadvantages

Exactly!
