Feelthere ERJ - FMC - change altitude ?

Featured Replies

Hi Folks,

I'm pretty new to the Feelthere ERJ... I've worked myself through the FMC and seem to have met all the FMC requirements for a successful flight... How do I modify the cruise altitude in the FMC once in flight??? I couldn't make my planned altitude and decided to fly a lower one than the one I had initially input... The only issue is that the FMC would keep placing TOC markers for vertical navigation throughout my flight after every checkpoint... I spent a good portion of the time messing with the FMC and while I found the screen that listed my cruise altitude - I couldn't figure out any means to change it... Would anyone be able to walk me through this ?

Scott

I'm still figuring out the ERJ as well. There's a very good ERJ FMS tutorial on YouTube here: http://www.youtube.com/user/bushwoodful/videos

This is just a guess but the 2nd video he demonstrates the What-If page and that one might work: Go to Perf page 2 and select What-If Init (LSK 1L), then on the Init page 3 change the cruise altitude, then Next and Confirm Init. Then if you are OK with the changes use SEL to make the new cruise alt active. Good luck!

I've given up on the FeelThere ERJ. I've purchased many a third party product. This is the first one I've truely regret having spent money on. Besides the little nuisances like the TOC continuously diplaying, several of us have problems with loosing the window "focus". In the middle of a flight we loose the ability to click on any button or knob in the virtual cockpit. We posted requests for assistance on the support forum but all we got were some condescending and terse replies about how we weren't using the forum correctly. Some how I've solved the problem with loosing the window "focus" (not sure how) but still the control points appears to be so small that I can't keep the cursor on them to rotate knobs for example. It is total frustration and not a joy to fly like PMDG, Flight1 or Real Air products (all of which I've purchased and enthusiastically endorse). Sorry I couldn't help with your problem and I do wish you the best with the product but I did want to give those considering the ERJ at least one persons negative views on the product and on the company.

Morn'n Folks,

All opinions are certainly welcome in my book - both good and bad are helpful... I wouldn't be happy if treated poorly by the developer either... While I may look around in the VC my primary and preferred means of controlling the aircraft is still via 2D panels - so I haven't had the focus issue yet... I did read through the manual - and - it seemed a bit vague on the use of the FMC... I'll try the process outlined above and check the link to the tutorial... Thanks !!!

I've flown the feelthere ERJ quite a bit and haven't experience any problems with the buttons and knobs. I use the VC exclusively, and I also have a TrackIR. Maybe that's the difference? I can move in close to the buttons and knobs ...
