October 18, 201213 yr Hi All, This is how I curently have my CPU Overclocked.....Is this correct? Is it actually being overclocked? Processor:Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge Processor Cores:Quad-Core Processor Speed:3.4GHz Is this good aslo or should I have it set to 84? [JOBSCHEDULER] AffinityMask=14
October 18, 201213 yr Yes your CPU is over clocked. But, please download real temp to monitor temps before doing any stress testing. You are also going to need more voltage for that high of a clock.
October 18, 201213 yr And you need to have a good cooling solution as well if you are going to 4.8GHz... The affinity mask of 14 assumes hyperthreading (HT) is off. An affinity mask of 84 assumes HT is on but is then ignored by FSX... If you really need HT for other work on your computer, then make sure it is on in the BIOS and then use the 84 mask... I've been running at 4.8 for a while. I currently have this: How much more of voltage should I add? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099&name=CPU-Fans-Heatsinks And you need to have a good cooling solution as well if you are going to 4.8GHz... I currently have this: How much more of voltage should I add? http://www.newegg.co...-Fans-Heatsinks You seriously need to monitor temperatures. You could very easily damage your CPU since you are not on watercooling. I strongly reccomend downloading and installing RealTemp or CoreTemp. Report back your temps before changing anymore settings.
October 18, 201213 yr I've been running at 4.8 for a while. I currently have this: How much more of voltage should I add? Only stress testing can answer that question for you because every CPU is different. Download and run Intel Burn Test and Prime 95. If your system doesn't crash or produce errors and can pass a "maximum" run of IBT and run a "blend" test if Prime95 for at least an hour, then it is most likely stable. It's a virtual certainty that you will not be able to do this with 1.28V, you'll need more like 1.4V. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099&name=CPU-Fans-Heatsinks The Hyper 212 Evo is a fine cooler but it's not going to get the job done for your chip at 4.8 GHz once you add voltage to make it stable. Did you de-lid your CPU? If not: no way is this going to work unless you simply don't stress test and just gamble that everything is stable. I can't find in the BIOS the HT to see if its on or off..... What board do you run?
October 18, 201213 yr Mother Board: ASUS P8Z77-V LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

October 18, 201213 yr You have a 3570K... There is no hyperthreading on this chip. For the record it's under Advanced and then CPU Configuration for those of us running Asus boards with HT-enabled chips
October 20, 201213 yr Here you go. I was running FSX+RealTime+AS2012+REX+Mega Airport Helsinki. What are your temps while running IntelBurnTest with the extreme preset?
