October 20, 201213 yr just recently installed 737 ngx. i am running windows on boot camp on a mac. i am just using the track pad and arrows on the keyboard to control the airplane until my controller arrives from ups. my autopilot on the 737 will not come on. i preselect altitude, heading, and speed while on the ground and take off manually. as the plane is climbing i push the nose over to about 1800ft per min climb and try to activate the autopilot. it never come on. is there an update that iam missing? or is plane out of trim?? even after i level off and stabilize the plane the autopilot wil not activate. can someone guide me in the right direction??
October 20, 201213 yr Again? Last time we've got this post 6 hours ago. http://forum.avsim.n...pilot-question/ With keyboard control you should turn off "realistic autopilot engagement". Rostyslav S Wanna fly 737NGX with turbulence?
October 20, 201213 yr Author sorry did not know that it had been previously posted. thanks for the reply and my fix . gone flying.
October 20, 201213 yr Don't worry, there are at least 5 messages per week about the same thing. I think that pmdg should include those things in the installer, maybe someone will read it during installation. Read the intro document, there are also other things frequently asked here that can be discovered and fixed. Regards Andrea Daviero

If not, bad luck then, see you next time. Dmitrij Nazarenko
October 20, 201213 yr You can use keyboard indeed. The only thing to observe is the number of down arrows and up arrows. Before I got my Saitek joystick I used 18 types of down arrows and when taking off 18 types of up arrows. Thissimulastes no force in the stick so you can engage A/P. Of course this will work when airplane proper configured, trimmed and just after 400 AGL. This is not necessary to turn off realistic autopilot engagement. Adenilson

October 21, 201213 yr Or make some sort of test which, if one passes it, lets pilot the NGX. If not, bad luck then, see you next time. It could be an idea, but, I think that it will need a skip button. If you are installing it for the first time, you have not read the manual, so it is more difficult to answer to any question related to the product. Some games and programs use a personalized installers and during installation they show banners or game screenshots. Probably it will be overlooked also, but, I think that few will read it as they are paying attention to the installation phase. 30% less questions about this AP issue maybe possible.
