Glide before LOC
Thanks team, We have an airport in Brazil (SBRJ or SDU) that is sorrounded by sea. It have LOC in 20L but all pilots make circle approach at 900 feet altitude. LOC is not used and landing is visual and pilot controlled without A/P. Complementing. This is a short runway with 1400 meters only. Just captain is authorized by airlines to land (not first officer or co-pilot).

Glide before LOC
Kenny, Thanks. Yes I know how to change this setting thru FMC/CDU. Just want to know if real pilots even use Glide capture before LOC capture ? Adenilson

Glide before LOC
Dear friends, I'd like to know if we necessarily need to capture LOC before Glide in APP mode in B737 ? This is the default setting in PMDG. I think Glide antenna spread its signal in a large area so even without LOC captured it would make sense to capture Glide because in my understanding capturing Glide below path is safer. Am I right ? Thanka in advance for any help coming. Adenilson

Is there a way to keep enlarged PFD/ND in views?
Rfresh737, Even in 3D mode it's just a question to fine tune the config files. I am busy actually but will give a try and if succesful I'll post the file to you. ads2006

Is there a way to keep enlarged PFD/ND in views?
Rfresh737, The airplane must be in 2D view mode. It will not work in 3D view mode. Particularly I do not like 3D view and pans. In 2D view mode (you can adjust it permanantly thru FSX configuration menu) it can be used Shift+9 to enlarge PDF/ND/EICAS exactly the same computer display width and larger height. Using Shift+1 will return back to default sizes. Please give at least a try an let me know. I love it. ads2006

Is there a way to keep enlarged PFD/ND in views?
Rfresh737, Sorry for a long delay in respond you. I am imagining you are trying fo play the 800 variant of 737 because you are editing the panel.cfg of this variant and will not work in 700 or 900 variants unless you change their respectives panel.cfg files. Shift+9 I mean to hold left Shift key and press number 9 in the keyboard. It need to work because this instructions is resizing the PDF/ND/EICAS. ads2006 Rfresh737, See my panel.cfg file in the link : http://rapidshare.com/share/D8DDF6F6A52A05D1F5E9356CBCC64FBA - click in the square button "to Download" in the bottom of the page to download the file. Replacing this file the way I did represent no risk or damage to PMDG737 functionalities. Again replace at location : C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\PMDG 737-800NGX\panel Let me know if work. ads2006

Is there a way to keep enlarged PFD/ND in views?
This is easy my friend. I created this file modification since a long time ago. Just open the file panel.cfg located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\PMDG 737-800NGX\panel and change the [Windows08] section to the one mentioned below. Then you use Shift+9 to have a larger PDF/ND/EICAS and Shift+1 to come back to the original one : [Window08] file_1024=PMDG_NGX_main_wide.bmp size_mm=1920, 1200 window_size= 1.000, 1.000 position=7 visible=0 ident=MAIN_PANEL gauge00=PMDG_737NGX!CaptainGlareshieldEdge, 684, 410, 1236, 26, MAIN gauge01=PMDG_737NGX!LeftGlareshieldEdge, 304, 414, 380, 89, MAIN gauge02=PMDG_737NGX!LeftGlareshieldEdge1, 219, 503, 236, 98, MAIN gauge03=PMDG_737NGX!CaptainColumn, 1476, 0, 230, 410, MAIN gauge04=PMDG_737NGX!ClockSwitch, 0, 520, 219, 157, MAIN //gauge05=PMDG_737NGX!ChronometerPanel, 0, 667, 219, 523, L #1 MAIN gauge06=PMDG_737NGX!DU, 0, 600, 640, 600, LEFT_OUTBD #1 MAIN gauge07=PMDG_737NGX!DU, 640, 600, 640, 600, LEFT_INBD #2 MAIN gauge08=PMDG_737NGX!DU, 1280, 600, 640, 600, UPPER #3 MAIN //gauge09=PMDG_737NGX!Standby, 1122, 601, 221, 599, MAIN //gauge10=PMDG_737NGX!GearPanel, 1796, 601, 123, 599, MAIN //gauge11=PMDG_737NGX!DSP_Captain, 219, 601, 903, 174, MAIN //gauge12=PMDG_737NGX!MainMisc, 1343, 602, 453, 174, MAIN gauge13=PMDG_737NGX!MasterCautionSystem_Captain,455, 503, 229, 98, MAIN gauge14=PMDG_737NGX!EFIS_Captain, 684, 436, 285, 165, MAIN gauge15=PMDG_737NGX!MCP, 969, 436,1099, 165, MAIN gauge16=PMDG_737NGX!LightSensor, 0, 0, 4, 4 Regards, Adenilson

11APR13 - Outage causing Support/Activation disruption
Dear Robert and Ryan, Good night. I purchased again the PMDG 737NGX thru PMDG website because I changed my computer and while trying to install and activate the product again I got an activation error. I was suspecting it should be the number of validations exceeded but now reading these posts I realized that I unfortunately paid twice for the product because I just purchased again the product (few minutes ago on April 13th, 2013) and I am still experiencing failures while trying to activate my new license. The ticket I opened is 1EF-18FCC642-0304. Regards, Adenilson

Connecting PC to Samsung Note for VAInterface
Richard, I have a Galaxy Note 10.1 with WiFi and 3G like you. From the PC side you just need WiFi and WiFi router. Windows 8 is not a problem. Just make sure during VAInterface installation to answer Yes to insert it in the Firewall list. If you are not asked this question please insert VAInterface manually in the Firewall exclusion list. It will work like a charm. Also take a look in the instructions mentioned by Adam above. Regards, Adenilson

737NGX / FSX / Windows 8 x64
Andrea, Even if you consider Windows 7, we have millions of hardwares and configurations worldwide so there's no 100% guarantee that PMDG 737NGX would work like a charm in all systems. I gave me a trial despite of the risk of my notebook get in trouble. But I took into account 3 points before proceed : a - First listen to some feedback from forums and in majority most of people had no major issues with Windows 8; b - My notebook manufacturer (Samsung) posted Windows 8 drivers in their website leaving me more confortable; c - Third Microsoft told that the Windows 8 core code was based on Windows 7 so I was expecting no major issues with PMDG 737NGX. I don't have a 100% correct answer to give you (specially for your system). You should give a trial or not. Regards, Adenilson

PMDG 737NGX Script for FSUIPC
Dear friends, I forgot 1 important button & 1 important dial. See updated version below. I created this using the PMDG 737-800 with winglets. I assume it will work in the other PMDG 737 variants. PMDG 737NGX Script for FSUIPC
Dear friends, I forgot to mention. Open the Notepad and save the macro above with name PMDG_MCP.mcro and drop it in FSX modules directory. The extension must be mcro. The name is your free to choose. That's it. All commands above will be immediately available under FSUIPC. Adenilson

PMDG 737NGX Script for FSUIPC
Dear friends, I created a script to use my Saitek X52 PRO to command all PMDG 737NGX SP1c 30 MCP buttons & dials and leave it available under FSUIPC 4.8.x.x menus so you can associate the way you want. I´m using the 3 Saitek modes using the SST software. This software enable Saitek commands to be associated to computer free keystrokes. To work properly you need to open Profile Editor, click Programming and click Test Profile lefting it opened while using FSX SP2. PMDG 737NGX with Windows 8
Guys, Make sure you check first with your desktop or notebook manufacturer if the hardware is compatible with Windows 8. In my case there is a specific page about Windows 8 under manufacturer Samsung web page. In my case there is no issues with PMDG under Windows 8 environment. And I used upgrade instead of clean install then afterwards used the Windows cleanup software to delete securely the Windows 8 Old folder. Of course I created before my USB pen drive image file thru Windows 8 recovery tool. Adenilson

PMDG 737NGX with Windows 8
Jgoggi, I made some changes with Nvidia Inspector and now FSX is locked again in 40 FPS. It was not necessary to make a clean install of Windows 8. I took advantage and also made some changes moving to 16xQ CSAA and I have used Inspector to lock frame rate to 30 FPS. Now I am quite satisfied as images are much better in terms of quality (especially in 3D). Thanks to Ryan Maziarz tips in General Forum. Adenilson

PMDG 737NGX with Windows 8
Jude, If you get better in terms of graphics improvement after your clean install please let me know so I will go to the same way. I performed the easiest way because I would not like to install everything again (it would take several and several hours because I have MS Office, DVD burning programs, etc...). Regards, Adenilson
