January 25, 201313 yr Commercial Member Heh... OK, spoiler alert! http://i64.photobuck...m 2/Bluochs.jpg ...and it's animated! Now that is really neat!! Jim Stewart Milviz Person.
January 25, 201313 yr Commercial Member There are two different versions - one an upgraded Swiss version (the original download) and an Israeli version Good thing you mentioned the versions - I wound up on the Mirage4fs website and there is quite a dizzying array of planes there, between the AI packages, the flyable ones and the repaints. I've been spending the morning installing planes and doing some tidying up of my airplane folder via the magic of VNC while at work Guess I'll have some flying to do tonight! January 26, 201313 yr Commercial Member And after spending an hour with the Mirage, my jaw is firmly glued to the floor (or my desk). I'm completely amazed at the level of quality in this plane; blows away plenty of the payware I have. The high point was while tripping various switches while in flight, and finding the parachute... In short, I'm very grateful for the recommendation!! Jim Stewart Milviz Person.
January 26, 201313 yr Author I am very glad you are enjoying it Jim. I've been trying to get more people interested in it for some time, as it truly is an amazing addon that sets a standard that very few other aircraft, payware of freeware, can match...
March 19, 201313 yr Author Here is another great freeware discovery. The Nord 3202 is a tail dragger basic trainer produced in France in the 1960's. It has been released by Restauravia and if you know their previous addons, you will know it's going to be good. But this is beyond "good" - it is superb. The VC is one of the very best I have ever seen and if you are not an experienced taildragger pilot, this will teach you the importance of using lots of rudder. In this case it the developer has really modelled what is called "adverse yaw" and to do balanced turns, you will be using far more rudder than any other aircraft I've flown in FS. Check it out folks - it's free and it's amazing! C'est magnifique!!!!! Ian
March 20, 201313 yr Commercial Member Thanks for the heads up - I wasn't familiar with their work. I downloaded a few for fs2004.. but then I ended up tooling around in the Caudron 460 in FSX for a few hours. Man, talk about work just to take off with some semblance of control!! March 20, 201313 yr Author Restauravia have done some great stuff. My personal favorite is their Mystere IV but they are all good. This Nord 3203 though is in a league of its own! WOW... Having been both a student and instructor in tail draggers with about a thousand hours on Cessna 185's, I know the importance if using the rudders on take off and landing and to make balanced turns. The Nord really models this well and will be a challenge for even real world pilots who have flown mostly jets. And as I said earlier, the VC is definitely one of the best I've seen - payware or freeware Ian
