January 18, 201313 yr Author Just did. Spent the last hour in it, great plane! Really great tip, I highly appreciate it. I always come away from finding out about a plane like this wondering what other great freeware planes I'm missing out on. Felt the same way after discovering (by pure accident, was looking for Canadian scenery) the amazing Section8 F86. I often think that there should be a forum sticky with the top, say, 10 freeware planes listed. ^_^ I totally agree. There is so much good information that is buried in old forum threads - it would be great if there was somewhere things like that could be readily found. The Section8 F86 truly is one of the absolute very best. Have you tried the ISRA Mirage III??? If not, get it and it will blow your mind. There are two different versions - one an upgraded Swiss version (the original download) and an Israeli version... It is right up there with the best payware Cheers Ian
January 19, 201313 yr The Galeb is indeed great, despite its age, and I also recommend Thomas Nilsson's SAAB Draken, a freeware jet fighter which is high quality and challenging to fly. John G.
January 22, 201313 yr Commercial Member Have you tried the ISRA Mirage III? I haven't yet, but it's on my list! I keep finding new projects within fs that seem to suck up all my time. I actually meant to try it out a week ago. I also now apparently need to add the SAAB Draken to my 'try out' list as well! I know there's a webpage that lists the majority of the freeware scenery, grouped by region. It would be great if someone would do the same for planes! Jim Stewart Milviz Person.
January 22, 201313 yr Have you tried the ISRA Mirage III Also, have a look at Isra's site:http://www.isra.ch/ There is some amazing scenery to be had there.
January 22, 201313 yr Also, have a look at Isra's site: http://www.isra.ch/ There is some amazing scenery to be had there. You need Switzerland Pro for those to work right. I tried out 2 of them and they didn't look/work right without Switzerland Pro.
January 23, 201313 yr Author You need Switzerland Pro for those to work right. I tried out 2 of them and they didn't look/work right without Switzerland Pro. They will work without Switzerland Pro but you need a tool like AFX to edit the AFCAD. Once you put in a bunch of exclude rectangles to clean up objects that are in the wrong places, they are pretty cool! If anyone wants me to send them my revised AFCAD (so far only finished LSMM but doing some others) send me a PM with your email address. I do use UTE but don't know if that makes any difference.... I just wish there were more AI repaints for the Swiss Air Force to really bring them to life, but even without traffic they are very good - totally different to any other military base I've tried... Cheers Ian

January 23, 201313 yr Hey Ian, Whereabouts can I get the "Section 8" F86? That sounds very interesting. As always, thanks much my friend! Regards, Joe Esposito
January 23, 201313 yr Ian, about the AFCAD......what version of LSMM do you have? FS9 or FSX? I am asking for the FS9 version AFCAD not the FSX one.
January 24, 201313 yr even without traffic they are very good - totally different to any other military base I've tried... Don't know if this will work outside S. Pro, but it's one of the most amazing bits of scenery I've come across in FS: LSMU_Buochs.It's inside the mountain...
January 25, 201313 yr Author I found it....Looks like great fun!! You are going to LOVE it... Definitely one of the best military jets ever produced for FS9 - payware or freeware! Ian, about the AFCAD......what version of LSMM do you have? FS9 or FSX? I am asking for the FS9 version AFCAD not the FSX one. I'm a strictly FS9 guy Joseph. I will send it to you soon once I finish tweaking it a bit Don't know if this will work outside S. Pro, but it's one of the most amazing bits of scenery I've come across in FS: LSMU_Buochs. It's inside the mountain... Hmmm - I was always told trying to fly inside a mountain was bad for your health - though I came close to doing it once or twice! Sounds fascinating - I will check it out Cheers Ian
January 25, 201313 yr Sounds fascinating - I will check it out I do hope it works for you - it answers some questions I had for years, about how the Swiss jammed 12 Mirages into a cavern big enough for only 6!
January 25, 201313 yr jammed 12 Mirages into a cavern big enough for only 6! Thats simple ... folding wings.
January 25, 201313 yr Heh... OK, spoiler alert! http://i64.photobuck...m 2/Bluochs.jpg ...and it's animated!
