Flight Plan & G530

Featured Replies

Hello Guys !

For some reason I can setup flight plan "On the Fly" meaning using using the GPS without pulling down the FSX Flight Planner.

Any idea ????

Cheers

..ooppps..... I mean I can't setup .....

The default GPS does not allow direct flight plan entry. It must be done using the flight planner. You can do a Direct to. If thats what you are referring to.

I recommend buying the RXP GNS530W - works like the real one does:

..does it have the option to set up Flight Plan on the fly ???

Yes. You have to manually input the flight plan in the RXP GNS or you can change, go direct to a waypoint in route.

..cool. I 'll make sure it's on my Hanuka wish list :P

Oh, yeah, 1 more thing... can you swap the FSX 530 Generic on with the Really one ???

If you mean can you put it in VC... it depends on the aircraft. Many general aviation addons will accept the RXP 430W and/or 530W.

If you want to put it into a panel as a 2D popup - it's very simple to do. There are instructions included with the product for that if I recall.

The downside to the RXP version is that there are not frequent navdata updates like you might find for an FMS off Navigraph's site. But if you search their forums you'll find Summer 2011 data:

And while a little off topic.. there's a few other planes with Garmin G1000's that do allow updated navigraph - both highly recommended if you have a decent PC... the Flight1 T182 and Mustang (plus they've got a King Air 200 coming soon that will have G1000).

What is your favorite plane?

Some planes work great with an RXP GNS, as was mentioned above, it depends on the panel layout

and modeling.

..in most part of it :,

  • Cessna Centurion 210TC for Single Prop

but also:

  • Cessna 337H Skymaster Twin Push Pull (Tweaked Engine to Turbo Version)
  • Baron B58 for Twin

All by Carenado ...

Most of my time is spend at the SoCal or NoCal dorms, which covered by PilotEdge Live ATC Services. love it !

I'm using GPS Panel (by Desktopaviator.com) real as it can get, no problem with the generic FSX, wonder how will it work with Realty.

I'm RW Student pilot, so I'm trying to keep everything as real as possible keeping Keyboard strokes & mouse clicking to the very minimum.

You'll be pretty happy with the RXP GNS530 in those planes.

The 337 is set up for a 530, the 210 (as best I know) a 530 + 430..

Even though the Baron is designed for dual 430s, you can actually squeeze a 530 into the panel.
