We have Europe/USA already..

Featured Replies

Hello guys,

I have been thinking that we all have photoreal sceneries of Europe/USA but none of Asia.. and I don't think if anyone is willing to come up with it.. Imagine how beautiful it is to discover Asian counteries like India,Nepal etc.. .There is no shortage of Europe and US sceneries but there are hardly any for ASIA!! Is there any team/group willing to do photoreal Asia!? Even if it's payware I will buy it without a doubt..I am little tired of seeing it.. I would love get to something for ASIA as well..

Megascenery is limited to US only,ORBX is US/NZ , Sim savvy US only and left ones are for Europe..

The thing that troubles me while flying to Asian counteries that the Default FSX vector based textures look so bad that i quite the game and try to find some solution..

Who's with me on this one??

Remeber- There is no feel without a good look below regardless how complex the aircraft is it will lack the needed realism indeed!

Right you are. The best I could get was some general landclass addon. As you've said, some regions come in two or more flavours and others still are FSX default. I guess it shows that at least the payware has to follow a plan, getting sold. But some freeware projects sometimes show, that the will and skill can lead to a good outcome. I recall some package for Nepal for example.

Hey, great idea! <snicker>

Now if you'd like to share the links to the source imagery?

Most all the imagery for the CONUS is freely available, so where is that freely available source for China, Korea, Russia, Japan, ...?

Otherwise you are looking at using commercial data and that ain't cheap!

I agree that might not be cheap, But if some scenery developer comes with it and price the product accordinly..

I'll do any country you want, lets say $300 per country? ;)

I wonder if anybody knows any commercial data that would be reasonably priced?

When I've looked at some commercial sources of photoreal data even amount of it required to make some small mediterranean island would have taken hundreds or thousands of euros, with such prices I don't see how anyone could create a whole country and yet still make profit.

Free data available outside Us seems to be very varying in terms of image quality and often also seasons, if it wasn't I would be half way making Cuba already. In most areas it seems to be totally inadequate.

If somebody manages to find me such a reasonably priced commercial data source I would be more than willing to make any country.
