October 26, 201213 yr Hi Folks, Question - a while back I recall seeing a post that some software package that was around for years decided to go freeware or donationware - - - I thought I recall a post where someone mentioned it would be possible to include this large volume of recordings into RC4's radio chatter play list... Would anyone have any more information on this - is t possible - and - is it worth the effort ? Meaning would they blend well with the existing RC4 recordings ? Thanks... Regards, Scott
October 27, 201213 yr In FS9 miscellaneous files search for: MeatWater VocPack for Radar Contact 4 VERSION 2 There are ten downloads that make up the set. Be sure to follow the backup instructions. Check out the description to see if this is what you want.
October 27, 201213 yr Author Hi Ronzie, Thanks - I have and love the "Meatwater" mods... This was just a radio chatter program to add ambient cockpit radio calls... It seemed to be popular - as there was much discussion at the time... Probably a year or two ago... I remember looking at it and it was a huge download so I skipped it at the time... Again - if I recall correctly - there was some discussion about adding the WAV's to RC4... Regards, Scott
October 27, 201213 yr The procedure is in the RC4 manual for the Prerecorded Chatter files. That goes into the how they are organized by area, etc. As to getting wavs to match the existing ones that would be the "hairy" part. This thread might help: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/272071-cannot-hear-pre-recorded-chatter/page__hl__prerecorded#entry1697054
October 28, 201213 yr Scott, I think this is what you might be thinking of: http://realatc.net/RealATC.htm Anyway, as a side note, I've actually been editing my own wav chatter files lately for countries/regions that RC doesn't have chatter for by default. Basically I download an archived stream from liveatc.net for an area I'll fly and then use a little program called Audacity split it up into many wav files to be dropped into respective winwood folders. When I've accrued quite a few areas I'm thinking of uploading them to avsim.
