The program has expired!

Has anyone seen this message yet? I just reinstalled my FSX and booted it, got this warning pop-up about 50 times having to click OK to clear it. Then installed Acceleration and the same thing happened again...

Anyone else experienced this?

EDIT

I also just noticed... It does it every time I launch FSX :O

although you reinstalled FSX, do you have fresh exe.xml and dll.xml files? perhaps it could be an old addon launching with a problem or a demo

The program remembers how many times you reinstall it and after so many it won't do it again. It usually takes you to a site on Microsoft where you have this big number series and asks you some questions about how many computers you have the program on and then unlocks the reinstall if it likes your answers.

At least that has been my experience.

I got the same problem and my solution was disabling fsx from Lucid Virtu program!

I did do a quick google search and found that it was the Lucid MVP program causing it. I also noticed they'll pulled FSX from the list now.

All is fine now.

Does it? I installed my FSX virtually zillion of times, probably many more than anyone here, and never got the message. Also activated it many times already.

I've seen reports of FSX not allowing activation after 3 installs, and you have to call Microsoft for a new key. However, I've also seen reports of FSX never having an installation limit, and activating tons of time. Thankfully my case is the latter.

There's a hardware hash key in windows, if your hardware changes substantially the key changes, and when you next install FSX the "installed onto another machine" count gets incremented. I think it is on the fourth attempt you will get the "no go" and have to phone, but in 99% of cases you will be reactivated.

Well, I've certainly had that happen. I think it was when I bought a new computer and reinstalled FSX on the new machine so that may have something to do with it.

I had four copies and used them all up after changing hardware and machines around so much and forgetting which was installed onto which. If one would not work I simply put in a key from another to impatiently avoid the phone call. Now I think I run out of activations with all of them, but I have one copy of Gold left unwrapped yet... haha... LOL
