KLM B747 Landing Incident

Recommended Posts

This is interesting...

I had heard of issues with aircraft with tilting gear or steering rods which could and would fail....but the main body gear in a 747?

Would be interesting to follow this up..

The gear truck rotated 45 degrees on landing and the crew called for immediate assistance.

Well to be honest this just shows how well designed and strong these beasts are (also high level of maintenance) I've never heard of failure like this on the 747

The 747 main gear rotates with the nose wheel to enhance it's turning radius. It looks like this machines main gear decided it wanted to do it's own thing.
