November 6, 201213 yr Hi folks! This is perhaps not the best place to post this question, so please inform me if this is a no no. Couldn't find a category that fits the bill. Did a search, nothing came up. Feel comfortable with you guys (haven't signed up on many forums, just this one and two more. I think), so here goes: I found a freeware airport scenery of Borispol Kiev Ukranie. So I wanted some charts for this AD. This page: http://192.206.28.84...IPS_online.html had links most to places. But... Ukraine AIS is off limits unless you pay, wait for it... 735,17 USD!!! So that's not gonna happen... I've checked Navigraph, they have them, but I'm just out of credits. So I wondered if any of you gents (or ladies) have a suggestion before I get out my credit card and let Navigraph have some more of my hard earned money. November 6, 201213 yr So I wondered if any of you gents (or ladies) have a suggestion before I get out my credit card and let Navigraph have some more of my hard earned money. I've seen about 3 ladies around here. I think it's a male dominated hobby... I would just fork over more money to Navigraph. 735,17 USD!!! Holy s**t that's a lot of money for charts. November 6, 201213 yr Author Yep Kenny! The Deputy Head of the AIS publications of Ukraine, Mikhail Demchenko kindly informed me in an e-mail that this is how they do it in Ukraine. In Norway it's free, as it is deemed public information. I tried to get charts from Germany, AIS publications has been outsourced there. So they went for my wallet there too!! (Found charts on VATSIM Germany, so no prob). But it is wrong! Just plain wrong! Reason: safety safety safety! But no tip Kenny? November 6, 201213 yr But no tip Kenny? I would Google "airport name charts" and see if anything comes up. That's all I can come up with. Though I'm from the US and aiport charts, CVR transcripts (releasing them is illegal in Canada), and other information is public information. If a country wants to keep information from the public, then they can do that. Other than that, get the credit card ready. Kenny Lee"Keep climbing"
November 7, 201213 yr Commercial Member Generally in Europe charts are a paid-for commodity. You can access a lot of AIPs for free, but the en-route stuff is often paid-only. The argument is "leave it to market forces". Also known as "how to screw over the guy in the street in the name of €€€". Should be like the US, but will never happen. The EU is totally anti-aviation. You might want to get the Jeppesen charts without update - you can get the world database for around 500 USD. Best regards, Robin.

The EU is totally anti-aviation. Lol! Can't argue with that, EU are trying to enforce rules with new rules, I know, I've seen it. But not to worry. after installing 385 MB of EKBB scenery, with an EXE installer (impressive freeware really). The charts where included! I also found German AD charts at EUROCONTROL's EAD BASIC:http://www.ead.eurocontrol.int/eadcms/eadsite/index.php.html Don't know if they got them all, but it is a place to start You need to register... ----------------------------------------------- Morten Haughom Greetings from the sticks!
