Frustration

Jim,

I'm beginning to suspect that my realair legacy and duke may be the cause of my issues.

I'm getting the ctd when using these two aircraft.

I just flew kwys (orbx) to klas (fsdt) then from klas to kjac (orbx) in the pmdg 737ngx without missing a beat.

Strange mate. Don't really know where to go from here but might test the realair stuff in some default areas and see what happens.

When the developer installs software like the realair legacy and duke, the installer checks for the proper Microsoft Visual. If it is not there, then it normally installs the one required to properly install their software. Sometimes developers do not use this method and just use a basic installer. If you are having issues with just those two aircraft, you need to check the aircraft folders and make sure all looks proper there (aircraft.cfg, sound file, panel file, etc.). It's a possibility the aircraft are looking for a gauge, sound file, or texture and it is not there. I would also try reinstalling these aircraft with UAC disabled and any anti-virus program. Plus, right click on the exe program and run as admin. But first, completely uninstall them and make sure nothing is leftover in the Aircraft folder. Run a registry cleaner, then reinstall. I'm glad you were able to pinpoint the aircraft troublemakers. Perhaps you can also look in their forums and see if others have had issues with these aircraft too. Sometimes the developer will issue a patch just for the user having the problem.

Best regards,

Jim

Edit: Forgot to add that some of these legacy or older aircraft use FSX default aircraft configurations and, if you moved any of the default aircraft or deleted any, it will cause a crash too. This is why a lot of crashes are fixed when someone does a fsx repair by inserting their fsx disk and selecting the repair option. If a repair is done, then you also need to repair Acceleration or any SP you installed.
