November 7, 201213 yr Whilst crossing the coast of the Netherlands Those pesky germans!!....still at it !!... Due to a breach of the cabin, loss of cabin pressure had me in a rapid decent from 26,000ft. Whilst in the decent, the fuel warning ping'ed, alerting me of low fuel.Looking at the fuel guages i could see i was loosing fuel from the left wing at an alarming rate, so trying to save as much as possible i switched the transfer pumps on and started pumping into the right wing.Well, that was a pretty piontless task as i saved around 56lbs... Then it all got alot better...engine 2 decided it had enough for today and quit...just marvolus (<yeh, spelling), but you couldnt blame the poor thing after the amount of Flak i saw it swallow, just before the fanblades shattered spilling out everywhere, and the engine caseing completly gone with tubes hanging out all over the place flapping around in the wind and white smoke bellowing out  ok, 400 something of fuel (lbs or kg i cudnt remember at the time, but i knew i was flying on fumes) 36DME to pam VOR...the airports 12DME futher from it 48DME to go...this is starting to feel tight..Passangers still screaming... I lie to them and tell them to keep calm, everythings under control and the airport is in sight...it wasnt.. A quick wind check had us landing on runway 05 with a very slight crosswind from the right....it also ment, apart from a slight deveation to the right, that i had a straight in approach...nice! NDB 326..inbound corse 047°, decend to 2000ft..jobs a good'un ^_^ 22DME...fuel 196 ..and a higher than normall fuel consumtion from the 3 engines due to the lost engine Alas, (i have to end it here..friends on way over and i need to shower) myself, co-pilot Pete and the passengers all made it down in 1 piece to admire the missing left wingtip, half of engine number 2, torn elevator surfaces (from the fan blades spewing everywhere) and a massive hole under the belly, and hydrolic fluid leaking from the underside somewhere... A bit of gaffer tape and a few zippy clips and we were airborn again.. ^_^ Regards Luke M
November 7, 201213 yr Have you ever tried an emergency descent in the sim? There are very few a/c that model pressurisation and oxygen correctly. Plus your flying skills have to be on the ball to avoid going beyond Vno. Super VC10 into LOWI with PF3 at a cinema near you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=298UDyNmgUA
