November 8, 201213 yr Asking if Gunter or Artem could help me-- I had this problem a while back then I thought it was 'solved'... and Linda seemed to work just fine in 99% of the time... a day ago I finally got Rex Essential PLUS (the 'latest' version of Rex) and it seems that Linda has become quite erratic again. This requires several restarts during flight. This is not what I am used to - and I am anxious to find out how to work around the problem without having to do 4 of 5 restarts during a one-hour instrument flight in the PMDG 737NGX. I know if I did a very fast horizontal pan with my joystick hat switch, often times LINDA would fail and require a restart. This new behaviour may not be solely from rapid panning... I am curious if REX could play a role in this intermittent Linda failures, also if there is a "newer" or "improved" version of Linda that has come out in the recent days gone by? If Artem/Guenter have any suggestions, I would love to hear, because life without Linda is UNACCEPTABLE. I can tell when she fails, as my pre-programmed buttons don't work. After restarting her, the failed button presses rapidly execute as if they were 'stuck' in a buffer (?) somewhere.... So Linda apparently is seeing the button presses but NOT ALWAYS REACTING or RESPONDING. Thank you for any help or guidance. My system and hardware is listed via hotlink here on the forum so I won't repeat all my equipment again here. R. November 8, 201213 yr My hypothesis is that Simconnect is falling over because REX is flooding it with too many requests per second. If SC falls over then so will FSUIPC (that's how FSUIPC talks to FSX) and finally so will LINDA because at a basic level LINDA is just an advanced GUI for FSUIPC. The only thing that can be done to fix this is to reduce the load on Simconnect, so it's maybe a problem for REX to deal with. Cheers, Andy.
November 8, 201213 yr Commercial Member Robert, using LINDA assignments for view panning is not a good idea. Couple of things I set in default FSX controls (not in LINDA and not in FSUIPC) are: 1. Trimming 2. View panning LINDA doesn't work well with repeated actions where they are required to be smooth. This is because of slow data channel between LINDA's GUI which detects button presses and Lua part of LINDA which actually execute assigned actions for these buttons. It works quite well for separate presses, but could be jerky with massive repeated presses. November 8, 201213 yr That's interesting to know Artem I wasn't aware of that, I'll remove my trim commands from LINDA, not that I ever remember having problems when using trim. Cheers, Andy.
November 8, 201213 yr Commercial Member One hint about NGX&trimming - set trimming in FSX controls AND set "NGX ... TRIM show" action in LINDA for the same buttons. The trimming will be smooth and the MCP display will keep showing the current trim value. November 8, 201213 yr Author Thanks Guenter and Artem. I appreciate your rapid response. Things seem OK today- I will squawk if the issue reappears. LOVE LINDA! I think FSUIPC and LINDA are two of the most-critical must-haves for our hobby! R. Scott McDonald B738/L Information is anecdotal only-without guarantee & user assumes all risks of use thereof. November 27, 201213 yr @ Robert (Hi! How're you doing?) > "I think FSUIPC and LINDA are two of the most-critical must-haves for our hobby!" I'll second that. For me, Aivlasoft EFB is in the same category — and for that reason I had uninstalled Rex Essentials Plus and returned to AS2012 with the SP2 Beta. However, v1.3.6 of Aivlasoft fixes the RE+ bug, and is available via this link if anyone needs it: http://www.aivlasoft...load/index.html @Artem *Many* thanks for your helpful comments about panning and trimming — I look forward to implementing them soon! ^_^ Best wishes, Brian

Nice to see you still are airborne! Urs, the developer of EFB is pretty quick on the response when REX changes things up - and thanks for posting the link here for people to get the Rex Essentials Plus Fix. IMPORTANT for EFB USERS! The EFB REX ESSENTIALS PLUS patch listed in Brian's post in the prior post is to be OVERLAID on top of EFB! Do NOT remove EFB from your system, the linked file is just a patch - NOT the entire EFB program! R. December 1, 201213 yr Hi Robert! Yeah, still airborne, although not as often as before.... In fact, following the link gives access to two available downloads, (1) a complete installation of v1.3.6, or (2) a Cumulative Update from lower versions. Hopefully, people will know which they need. All the best, Brian
