November 11, 201213 yr Good Morning! I have not been able to get the engines started! I have gone through the Before Start, and Starting Engine checklists verbatum. I get engine spool up but when I turn on the fuel valves (power levers forward) the engines just hang. Never start. I have IGN lights, fuel flow, etc. IS THERE something I am missing or some procedure, little switch I am not turning on? Some trick to it? Thanks in advance guys for your expertise. I appreciate it. Respectfully, Jet
November 11, 201213 yr Moderator If you have a physical mixture lever, move it fully forward and leave it there (this lever also controls the fuel valves!) If you don't have a physical mixture lever, press Ctrl-Shift-F4 to set full "mixture rich" which not so surprisingly also opens the fuel valves... B) Incidently, if - like most simmers - you haven't changed your default FSX aircraft to be the C172 instead of the Trike, these same issues may affect other aircraft... ...since the Trike has no prop or mixture controls, no avionics to speak of, etc. The aircraft used as the "default" in FSX saves up to twenty-two additional state variables more than a non-default aircraft's saved file. Every aircraft you load in the sim will look to the default aircraft's file to get these additional state variables... ...if they aren't saved, then the loaded aircraft will NOT have all of the data it needs to initialize correctly! It really is that simple. These issues are not unique to Eaglesoft, but may adversely affect any aircraft including freeware. Fr. I asked this question months ago, and no one was able to help me. However, I found a fix by myself that seems to work great. The problem isn't starting the aircraft, because it's usually running when I bring it up. The problem is preventing it from shutting down and being unable to start it again. This frustrated me for a long time. Here' what I do: Load the Premier and look at the VC...lower middle of the panel. There are 2 switches there under "ELECTRICAL" and they are side by side. They are labeled Generator Reset. FLIP BOTH THOSE SWITCHES UP WITH YOUR MOUSE ASAP (because if you wait too long, they don't seem to respond to the mouse click). This keeps the Premier running and purring like a cat. Hope that helps you. Stan
November 11, 201213 yr Author Yep. Fixes worked. SHFT CNTRL F4 was key. The thing is that the throttle levers go to idle cutoff and come out of idle cutoff. I had a basic or standard FSX plane loaded before loading the Premier so Im still confused but at least it works. NEXT question Probably Stan? If you would? When I try to use the Proline 21, I for instance the Refs Button. I get a "Creation Failed" Message. Check for sound. If I do this more than once or twice it crashes FSX alltogether. Im thinking it has something to do in the aircraft.cfg? I switched this jet over to panel=ws per eaglesoft. But Hmmmm.... Any ideas? Thanks guys for the help I appreciate this more than you know. I have a lot riding on this. I am a RW pilot and I am typed in the RA-390 and its been like 10 years since I have flown her. I have an interview (flight) on Tuesday and this is helping me get re-aqainted big time. THANKS so much fellas! Respectfully, Jet
November 12, 201213 yr Moderator Thanks, Stan. The Premier I was not one of my projects and honestly I haven't installed it on any of the six flightsim machines I've had since it was released... ...despite the fact that I really like it! I simply haven't had time the past few years to actually do any "flying" at all, save for those all too brief "test flights" I make while working on my current project assignment. Fr. November 18, 201213 yr Author Ha I understand that!!! I am working through some of these issues hopefully will get it to run. Then I want to tweak and add things like add on FMS etc. It just doesnt do her justice to not have a working FMS in it. Respectfully, Jet
November 18, 201213 yr Bill, you're working too hard, man. Take a break - there's a lot of sky to cover. You are absolutely right about the default plane parameters and it has caught me offguard a few times. Little things like fuel tank selections have made me scramble for a solution mid-flight when the engine died and I find I had been using one tank rather than both on a previous flight. Some planes are tweakier than others.
November 26, 201213 yr Author Well, Bill I agree with dolph. Good news is that I am getting things worked out with the aide of Ernie Alstons gauges and FS Panel. Ive been able to tweak the Premier into a great model. I will get some screen shots uploaded in a while. Respectfully, Jet
November 30, 201213 yr Author Ok I have some things worked out on this finally. Something about the model itself or who knows but I could not get the aircraft to respond as is out of the box. Not to worry as I am a huge Fan of FSUIPC On my X52, I have on button that has the "Key Press" assignment of Cntl-Shft-F4, as N4gix had suggested. You just have to love Pete and FSUIPC. I have also been getting re-aquainted with my FS Panel Studios and Integrated Simvionics ISG for short with Erie Alstons FINE guages for those who need the FMS/FMC work like I do. If anyone out there has the Eagle Soft Premier and would like my Panel.cfg or a copy of it (You'll need ISGs Guages) let me know! Thanks you guys for the input.
