November 12, 201213 yr Has anyone made any progress with FSInn and Prepar3D? I can connect to VATSIM, but cannot see other aircraft and the sim slows to a crawl whenever there is an airplane within my set multiplayer range in FSInn. David Garrison
November 13, 201213 yr Author Figured it out, dummy - forgot to make a copy of prepar3d.exe and rename it fsx.exe within the prepar3d root folder. All is perfect now! My transition to P3D is officially complete! edit: jumped the gun there - having other issues.. getting tere though! David Garrison

So you install FSINN using any migrator at all? do you have any issues with FSINN refreshing the aircraft repository? Will Reynolds Flight Sim Addict
November 13, 201213 yr Author David, you are about to give me heart palpitations....you got FSINN working? So you install FSINN using any migrator at all? do you have any issues with FSINN refreshing the aircraft repository? Like i said, i jumped the gun a bit. First FSInn was working fine in terms of comms with atc, etc, but i could not see traffic at all, and this made my sim slow to 5fps whenever traffic came into my set multiplayer range within fsinn. After trying different approaches, a little progress was made - it now shows ALL traffic as the PMDG NGX in delta livery which happens to be the only aircraft i have installed into prepar3d. As soon as i try to assign the correct aircraft (i have ut2) to that person, that person and his plane suddenly disappears and my sim goes back to crawling at 5 fps. I am trying to figure out how to make it show ut2 planes. Everything is installed as should be.. David Garrison
November 14, 201213 yr Have you tried these? http://youtu.be/YI6B7B1ip3Y http://forums.vatsim.net/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=61187 I might do some fiddling myself when I get home! Will Reynolds Flight Sim Addict
November 14, 201213 yr Author I have tried that - doesn't seem to do anything. My problems are made more difficult due to having FSInn on a networked laptop. David Garrison
November 14, 201213 yr Author Well got it working for the most part now. I think i need to do the AC_ID again to finalize everything. but at least fsinn is recognizing planes and matching them with the correct planes from UT2 (minus the liveries, theyre all daedalus liveries.) at least i can change them around to different liveries and they dont disappear. I will report back. David Garrison
November 15, 201213 yr Author I believe it will only work if you also have fsx installed. Follow this: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/380397-how-to-fscopilot-fsinn-with-prepar3d/ Then do this: make a copy of Prepar3D.exe and rename it FSX.exe so you now have Prepar3D.exe AND FSX.exe in your Prepar3D root folder. Start up FSX, then run FSInn - it should start scanning and updating the repository. When that is complete, shut down FSX but leave FSInn running. You can start P3D after this and connect to VATSIM. FSInn will have the repository set up from FSX already so you should be all set. I have not run AC_ID yet so I'm still seeing all daedalus liveries, will get around to that when I have time. November 21, 201213 yr Author David, you are about to give me heart palpitations....you got FSINN working? So you install FSINN using any migrator at all? do you have any issues with FSINN refreshing the aircraft repository? Works fine for me - I have aircraft repository working. Using FSX2P3D tool and running P3D in Legacy mode. Did not need to use resource hacker, i do get a few errors when starting P3D, but just click "OK" thru the errors and it will still work. David Garrison
November 21, 201213 yr Author UPDATE - the errors were my fault, I had FSCopilot running on the sim pc while FSInn was trying to launch with P3D on the network laptop. I get absolutely no errors at all, getting all planes now.. it was able to scan all of my UT2 aircraft. I will try to start a new thread. David Garrison
November 22, 201213 yr Ok, so to get it running you need to have both fsx and p3d installed? Will Reynolds Flight Sim Addict
November 22, 201213 yr Author Ok, so to get it running you need to have both fsx and p3d installed? No I got a new SSD so I recently cleaned everything out and reformatted. I only have prepar3d installed. Install FSInn using the FSX2P3D migration tool from Estonia - then launch P3D Legacy mode then FSInn and it should work! David Garrison
November 22, 201213 yr Author Thanks David! will give it a try. LMK! Everyday we make progress with P3D, it's a great feeling. David Garrison
