November 15, 201213 yr I'm running some pretty cheap ram here -- DDR3 8GB (2x4GB) at a DRAM frequency of 666.7 mhz CL 9.0 tRCD 9.0 tRP 9 tRAS 24 CR 1T I have no idea what these numbers mean. Will upgrading to something like this improve my FSX performance (loading speed?): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226199 Thanks Soarbywire - Avionics Engineering

November 19, 201213 yr Author Thanks. Doesn't seem like its worth to upgrade then. The money will go towards a gfx card instead. Soarbywire - Avionics Engineering
November 19, 201213 yr Commercial Member Not only will it improve FSX to some degree, it will boost your overall PC experience. System will feel snappier. Seeing how cheap memory is nowadays, it would be a good investment and peace of mind knowing your memory is not the bottleneck. - Sent from my rooted, Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus LTE smartphone via Tapatalk because haters gonna hate. November 19, 201213 yr i have run my ram at 1333 and 1600 and cant notice the diff, if there is any its very likely small We play with the numbers , we have à PC that have a avg fps of 30 with 1333mhz cl9 Change them to 1600mhz cl9 we get 2.5% gain 0.7 fps avg 30.7 Change to 2800 cl10 14% gain 4.2fps avg 34.2 then OC 5-6 fps a diff off 10fps And if you have a medium or slow PC and uppgrade the GPU to 670-680 you dont See any diff to a 660 , that is a waste of money http://
November 19, 201213 yr I can confirm what Hasse says; around 2-3 FPS when you're currenlty at 30. 2 FPS is not much, but if 2 FPS is what you need to achieve 30 in all occasions it's a good upgrade. If you upgrade, please note that clockspeed influences performance more than CAS latency. Arjen Vandervelde
November 19, 201213 yr I think more than a general frame rate boost, is it should make the sim a little smoother, since it should improve scenery load times, (Albeit marginally) and could reduce blurries, (If you currently have them). Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
