The Let 410FG by Pannon Wings Design Team.First impressions were excellent with a very effective VC and cabin.Obviously a lot of work involved and great attention to detail.Sitting in that glass nose is not for those of you who suffer from vertigo! :-) Not many aircraft around with retracting main gear and a fixed nosewheel!!!Very nice textures too.Thank you for a great add-on.85017.jpg

This is fantastic news. Although there have been one or two versions of this made previously, even one for AI, nothing compares with this which is marvellous work and freeware at that. There are thousands of these flying in the real world, although you don't see them so often in "the west". Not the greatest safety record in the world, but then you want to see where people fly them!http://www.swiremariners.com/africafly.jpgCongratulations and yes, I too hope we'll see the more common UVP in time from these authors.I suppose the only problem I have with it is that they have used my own LET 410 panel bitmap, uncredited, which is disappointing. It has been around for a while, and as it has been taken by others before without credit they may not realise who the original author was; but it's mine alright. It was a labour of love at the time, as good panel shots of this aircraft are hard to find and it was very much a 'composite' creation; it was not taken from a straight photograph. Ah well, such is freeware. At least now I have a decent LET in which to fly it!Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg

Man that's a really "cool" picture (pun intended :) )

I love to see them lion around, don't you?By the way, if anyone is having trouble with flying about with a stuck AI, then hit the 'A' button ... that will uncage it (pun intended .....)It's a wonderful aircraft in the mane, making many others look very roar. You won't want to paws your sim with this one!Mark "Dark Moment" BeaumontP.S. Can anyone who knows about Czech instruments tell me what the airspeed is calibrated in? KPH or something? Seems to bear no relevance to my airspeed, although the dial does at least move!http://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg

Must be KPH Mark.

John

1 knot = 1.851 kilometers per hour. When the airspeed shows 250 then ALT-Z shows 135 kts. 135 * 1.852 = 250. So the airspeed is measured in km/hr. No need knowing anything about Czech instuments to figure that out. ;-)Jozef http://pluizig.ath.cx/signature.jpg

I bow to thee, O wise one. Yes, I could have used my brain but I like to preserve what brain cells I have left where I can. I may need them to remember where I put my beer.Funny that, though. Wonder if they drive these on the road a lot?Mark "Dark Moment" BeaumontEDIT: Just had a nice letter from the authors, apologising for not crediting my bitmap; more importantly, they intend to release UVP and UVP-E versions in the coming weeks. Yay!http://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg

OK, I give, what is the glass nose used for on this plane? It very strange that they did not make the front nose wheel retract, but I guess they figure it wasn't that much air resistance. What is fun with this plane is to touch down with the main gear retracted and "fly" it down the runway with just the nose wheel touching. It is good test of skill.
