November 20, 201213 yr Hi everyone, I am very impressed by the ATIS fonction of AS2012 but the volume is really low on my aeroplanes, I would like to know if there is a way to adjust it other than just puting more volume on VHF1 or speakers when this option is not available. Is there something like a setting that could be changed to make it louder. I also tried on the 737NGX, it works GREAT ! however very low volume whatever I do to the radio volume of the 737. Thanks a lot for your support and congratulation on the great work AFL581
November 20, 201213 yr I am very impressed by the ATIS fonction of AS2012 but the volume is really low That's odd, because the volume is somewhat higher than ATC on my system. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
November 20, 201213 yr Ah, I just thought of something. Check your audio driver software. Make sure you're running the correct speaker configuration. For example, if you have stereo speakers (or headphones) and your driver is set to run 5.1, you may be getting one of the channels messed up. This isn't a guaranteed fix, but a good place to look. I seem to remember the FlightWatch radio being somewhat louder at one point. Good luck. Larry Hookins Larry Hookins Oh! November 20, 201213 yr Author Yes I checked that and everything is ok and set ok, but still the ATIS is very low compared to suround sounds or for exemple to FS2crew sounds. Everything ok except that, I ear it, yes, and I can understand what is said when the engines are off and on the ground, otherwise it is really to low. Any solution of how to tweak this ? Cheers AFL581
November 21, 201213 yr The FSX sound options tab has separate settings for Engine, Cockpit, Environment and Voice. Experiment a bit. It's possible that the FlightWatch radio volume isn't controlled by the Voice slider. Larry Hookins Larry Hookins Oh! November 21, 201213 yr In your sound card options have a look for a tick box called "Loudness Equalisation". On my Realtek HD sound devices (ASUS MB) this is in the tab "Speakers> Sound Effects". I only found this option by chance about 2 years after buying this motherboard and it was amazing how many new sounds I was hearing that I'd not heard before in FS. Enabling this option does have some side effects sometimes, for example if you are in the cockpit of an aircraft with the engines off but with the battery on, if that aircraft has a sound for the gyro's in the aircraft their sound will be boosted slowly and after a few seconds it can get rather irritating loud. Once other sounds are mixed in as well the loud gyro will disappear into the background again. Cheers, Andy.
