November 26, 201213 yr Sure would appreciate it if someone knows or better yet can point me in the direction on how I can findout the ident for guages in general. What I am doing is editing my copy of Eagle Softs Premier 1a. So far I have it rather tricked out nicely. I purchased Ernie Alstons FMC guages and cannot say enough about them. That coupled with FS Panel, I have been able to do a lot of Gee Wiz edits. Boiling it down I got tired of the standard issue EICAS that came with the download. What is troubling me is that the EICAS part is coupled with their MFD which after using Alston's guages well, leaves one wanting. So I finally am down to "borrowing" the lear EICAS as it is close to the real thing. I am rated in the actual RW aircraft so I would like to get this model as close as I can to RW. Specific question is that I would like to tie the semicon that calls up the engine guages to the Lear 45 EICAS and cannot figure out how to do it as I do not know the ident code for the Lear 45 EICAS. Anyone care to field this one? I just plain do not have enough time to learn how to design my own gauge. I wish I did. I would make one and send it off to Eagle Soft, but I am just not there yet. I am not handy enough yet to edit out the MFD part of their MFD/EICAS guage either. STUMPED. Thanks in advance guys for you much appreciated help on this. B) Respectfully, Jet
November 26, 201213 yr Moderator Flightsimulator supports two types of "gauges": compiled C .gau files, and XML .cab files. The Premier I's gauges are compiled C code. They cannot be "edited" or otherwise modified. The programmer of these gauges has long ago quit working on FS projects, and the source code was never made available. The 3d modeler who built the Premier I has likewise left the FS scene, and his source code was also never made available. That is why no further work will be ever done on the Premier I. It is what it has always been. A simple, fun to fly entertainment package with no pretensions of being complex. The EICAS of the Lear 45 is a sub-gauge of the Lear_45.CAB (cabinet) file. There is no ident for it. gauge00=Lear_45_XML!EICAS... The term ident refers to a parameter in a [Windownn] definition in the panel.cfg file. For example: //-- APU ------------------------------------------------- [Window06] size_mm=231,85 position=7 visible=0 ident=200 no_luminous=1 gauge00=Lear_45_XML!popup_apu, 0,0 You can use any number you wish here, but it is recommended that we use numbers other than the predefined ones. The suggested range is 10000 through 19999. Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
