I am getting max 33 fps dropping down to 20 fps with the default 747 at Manchester International.

I have no scenery, etc installed.

that's why alot of people have a love/hate relationship with FSX. It's 6-7 years old and runs like a snail on some modern tech. Maybe you should try out XPLANE 10 or DCS which takes advantage of modern hardware. I get smooth fast fps in fsx with max settings on my desktop and laptop. Maybe your drivers/fsx settings are alittle off.

what can you suggest because i already followed Kostas guide

Why not try Bojotes tweak Affinity / Highmem / Bufferpool + you should follow Nicks guide for Nvidia.

Bufferpool and Highmemfix should help.

To my understanding system should be flying.

therapy and alcohol helped me get through many years of fsx tweaking

can you rebuild your fsx.cfg ?

Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus

your minimum is 20 fps. Still not bad or slow. Absolutely smooth frames is 24 like a movie and some are recorded at 30. Go to KSEA and fly around there.

Then youll find out your minimum. lol Seattle has some poor rendering or something.

Isnt it amazing that todays gamers freak if their FPS is anything lower than 60. Our FSX rigs wouldnt have much problem on todays games. FSX however likes to eat our machines for breakfast. When will the day come when we see 60 FPS in our simulators with everything maxed like todays games? FSX and P3D old code probably has mostly everything to do with that. If im getting at least 15-20 fps landing in a major city and a intensive aircraft like the ngx, im happy. its smooth enough to have a good landing.

Thats a nice rig with pretty decent specs. play around with the sliders more to find out whats killing the frames. I put everything pretty low, then set up a scenario to reload and one by one up the sliders till you get up to a decent potential. This way you are finding out your happy medium.

Well, you never wrote with what settings?

I highly suggest you go through my guide, set up everything same like mine, and see how your system does.

i have been through it, i'll get some pics of settings soon.

Ive been into FSX since one year only. My best advisor for FSX (tweaking/addons/overall performance) was and will remain AVSIM forums...the search button + posting the problem in case i cant find a solution. FSX is a steep learning curve but its fun and interesting! I

Something is gravely amiss w/ your setup. I am running 4.5 y/o hardware at 3.71Ghz and it runs the default 747 with bloom on and I have no idea what the MAX frame rate would be as it's locked on 30 frames from parking thru taxi thru takeoff in moderate weather and as I say, w/ bloom on which is a huge penalty in DX9 mode which is what I'm running. Best poke around and try to find out what's wrong w/ your setup, but I can assure you it's not your hardware. Your machine should slice thru that like absolute butter! Your machine is probably 60% faster, and that's just the CPU. I would think w/o bloom on in that scenario you should be locked at what, maybe 70+ frames per second? As I say, something's very wrong w/ your setup.

Addendum: oops, two important qualifiers I failed to mention on my setup: because of its age, I'm running autogen only at DENSE, though I can run it higher it's just my compromise for performance. And LOD is at 4.5 I believe--whatever the default max is. But still, w/ bloom on, it should probably be a wash. Maybe someone w/ similar specs will chime in. I'm thinking you have something going on w/ mainboard drivers (if there are any w/ modern boards!), or video card drivers, or something bigger than FSX configuration issues. Seriously, my machine is a little better than half the horsepower of yours. Liquid smooth w/ bloom on at Manchester Intl. Even w/ this hardware I am able to run very complex scenery just have to be a little lighter on 3rd party aircraft, so I fly the QW757 mainly and reserve the PMDG 737NGX for smaller terminals only, or Hawaii w/ FSDT airports.

I suggest remake the fsx.cfg and try , after that go through bojotes patch once again and use pool-size=0 , set your affinity mask to 14 ( I think this is for quad systems).

That system would really gobble up fsx .

try the above again and let us know.

BTW is Special Effets enabled in FSX ? what is the water settings and autogen ?
